I could very easy see him dealing with the disease.
Do we know he's going to be a Captain? I kind of would like to see something different than an exploration show. 20 years post-Nemesis, wouldn't Picard be like an Admiral or Ambassador or something other than Captain?Amazing news about Patrick Stewart coming back top reprise Captain Picard!![]()
Why would he want to play a part so similar to the aged Professor X? I think the smart thing to do would be to ignore entirely what happened in "All Good Things," as that future and Picard's "syndrome" were all part of Q's setup of the situation that Picard had to solve.
I'm hopeful that after the writers and producers identify all the story pathways they shouldn't go down, they'll come up with something good.
Do we know he's going to be a Captain?
Some TNG, DS9, VOY appearances I'm sure. New characters in there as well. If its a hit, and some of the newer characters do well, Im sure we would see more late 24th century prime stories to come.
Stewart all but said that Picard won't be a captain.Do we know he's going to be a Captain?
I just don't see that happening. This show seems to be a vehicle for Patrick Stewart. It's a Picard story, not a "let's catch up with the old crew or other crews" story. As for more 24th century shows....we'll see. These things are expensive and I don't really see them making an investment in something they'd have to create from whole cloth. It makes more sense for them to spin-off in the current DSC era in order to reuse a lot of stuff.
And for people saying we've had reboots and prequels for the last however many years.....we've had 500 hundred hours or so of 24th century Trek. When we get that many in the Burnham / Pike / Kirk era, then I'll be ready to move on to a different time period. Not before.
Picard won't be a captain... demoted?
He's going to be Riker's 1st officer on Titan.
Picard will be 94 though. Not that that is super old in 24th century either.PS is only 78 years old. That's not exactly old in the 24th century. McCoy was 137; O'Brian wanted to die in his bed "at 140." Picard is basically very late middle-aged for a future human.
I would watch the hell out of that showPicard will be a very different guy. He is disillusioned by past events, left Starfleet and joined Section 31. When the show picks up, he will be the director and he will call himself Bullock.
I give a shit....why?
