TNG fans please identify yourselves ...

Hi there, I'm MrEscape, new here and 26. I'm a fan of pretty much all of the TV series' of Star Trek, but TNG will always be my favourite.

I'd have been a bit young to remember it but I guess I grew up with TNG back when it was first aired over here, my Dad recorded quite a few onto VHS so those would be the ones I first watched and actually remembered when I was old enough to understand it better. Only other series I really saw when it was first on was Voyager (Dad was not much into DS9 and afterwards we were not interested in Enterprise much at the time), then after then I did not watch much Star Trek for years.

I got back into it after seeing there were reruns on, but I wanted to see it from the beginning, so we got the series 1 DVD. Not having much memories except for Q and the jellyfish I did not know what to expect. I loved it and from there over time had revisited the series, and newly visited others like for DS9 over time. Then later on the Blu-ray TNG (which looks amazing!) after that, it really put a new look onto the whole thing.

There are episodes I like better than others and some that I absolutely do not like at all, but I'll save that for later too. Even though I am into all of them TNG will always be the best to me. I'll chuck anything else about me in on my profile somewhere later on as I've been typing for a lot longer than I expected too. See you around :)

Fleet Admiral Tribble accounted for. I have been officially demoted because no one respects Tribbles, but I am secretly still grandest Fleet Admiral in the Federation.

Anyways, huge TNG fan here. This is the show that made me become I am the Star Trek fan I am today twenty two years ago. I am currently rewatching the series on Netflix due to the fact all seven seasons have been updated with their most recent remasters. I am so glad to be watching season three again.

Of course I also love TOS, DS9, and most of the movies. I enjoyed VOY for the most part and have yet to watch ENT all the way through.

Hello, I am new to the forum. I am 32 years old and have been a Star Trek fan most of my life.

Recently I discovered that all of Star Trek is available for free on Amazon Prime TV. I haven't seen the show in nearly ten years, so I have been binging lately. It has made me rather sentimental about it.

When I was about maybe 6 years old, my father was watching the episode "The Royale". I thought it was very interesting and started watching it with him every week.

My baby brother was born with Down's Syndrome and had a lot of complications. When he was two years old, his first word was "BOOF!", which he got from watching the opening credits from The Next Generation. He said "Worf" before he said "mom" or "dad". As a family we got really into it and watched the show religiously every week.

I have seen all of the Star Trek series, but I definitely hold a spot in my heart for The Next Generation.

I feel that this show was formative for me, and I base a lot of my views on life from this show. I like most the themes that "peace, not victory, is the objective", that "our enemies are not unlike us", that "all life deserves respect", etc. I don't think that Deep Space Nine nor Voyager were quite as good as The Next Generation in this regard.

My favorite characters are Jean-Luc Picard and Data. I believe that Picard is one of the most admirable characters ever on television. I like how Data is a rock, which is why I really don't care for "The Naked Now". My favorite two episodes are "The Inner Light" and "Thine Own Self".

i think the episode of TNG that really made Picard for me, was, ironically, the episode where Tasha Yar was killed - Skin Of Evil.
Yar's death really shocked me at the time as I'm sure it must have done with lots of people. But the scene towards the very end between the creature who killed her, Armus, and Picard was absolutely brilliant where they both discuss what is true evil.
Picard's whole speech where he says to Armus, "You say you are true evil, I'll tell you exactly what true evil is....etc." rings so true if you really stop and think about for a minute.
Great episode.

Cadet Cronus is present and accounted for. Nice to meet all of you.

I always disliked Deanna Troi... Always so dramatic, and not in a good way. Other than that, I liked all other characters in the series.

Don't blame Marina Sirtis for that. That wasn't her fault. She was only a actress playing a role written for her by other writers.

Hello all. Brand new to this forum, was hoping to connect with other Star Trek fans as there aren't many around me! (Their loss). At any rate, I love all Star Trek and binge watch a few times a year. But out of all, The Next Generation is definitely my favorite, with a pretty close tie of Picard and Riker being my favorite characters.

Greetings and felicitations.
I'm new to the forum as well. I grew up as a TOS fan, but have been a keen follower of all the series. I've probably seen every episode of Trek ever made, and multiple times at that. After TOS, TNG is my favourite.

not sure if I did posted in this thread before hi my name is Erika I am from Massachusetts, USA I am 39 now and I watched TNG first run as a young teenager re watching now on Netflix in the middle of season 2 loving it so far was surprised how the eps stories were holding up and how timely they still are. Pretty much love all the characters the only thing I don't like his how much of a slut Riker is but overall like him personally

Hello All,
I am a die hard TNG fan. Can't get into the Original Series. I have seen a couple episodes, and they are good, but I'm desperately attached to the TNG family.
Favorite character... that one's hard. Probably Picard. I just love that philosopher king thing he's got going on. Hey, is it just me or would the 1701-D just explode without Data, Geordie, and Wesley Crusher. They figure everything out! If the warp core is acting up or some incessant space-time dilemma's got them down, Data, La Forge, and/or Wes is gonna get them out of it.
Let me just conclude by asking: Is anyone else completely freaked out that the TNG masterminds cast Michelle Forbes (you know, Ensign Ro) as a recurring character after passing her off as that Suicide Guy's (Half a Life episode) daughter? I was watching the series backwards and that just totally threw me off.

Former long time poster, returning now. Got into TNG around 92/93. Grew up with the motion pictures, not so much TOS.

Favorite episodes - Yesterdays Enterprise, Parallels, Future Imperfect, Remember Me & Chain of Command (Although this list changes every day).
Favorite Characters - Data, Dr. Crusher, Sito Jax

Wow, you've been a member for just shy of 10 years. You must have had a "real life sabbatical" but now returned to the TrekBBS funhouse. Glad to have you back.

Thank you! I was a very frequent poster in the 06-09 era, not sure what happened that made me stop posting, but it feels good to be back!

We don't tend to have much pinned in this forum, so I think that we can get away with having one of these introductory threads.

I'm new to the forums, I like TNG and DS9 most of all with TOS and VOY in 2nd place and ENT last. I saw the new Trek in 2009 and was so impressed I saw Into Darkness 2 years after its release on Netflix.

My favorite characters are Picard, Geordi, and Data.
