Game TNG Episode Pitch Game

"Laborers" - Briefly exiled from Enterprise-D while the ship is undergoing a necessary deep cleaning and inspection, the entire crew, including the senior staff, aid a civilian colony by helping to plant crops, set up shelters, etc, placing themselves under command of the civilian leaders, which doesn't sit well for some of the crew. Meanwhile, Beverly becomes concerned about a woman whose husband decided they would settle there, whether she wanted to or not.

"A Worthy Opponent"

After Worf complains about becoming bored of his calisthenics program on the holodeck, vying for an worthy opponent, Data decides to come up with a program that would create a worthy opponent for Worf. A tribble-like primate is created, and takes hostage of the Enterprise, just as Gorwon comes aboard.

Next Episode: "When It Pours"

"When It Pours" - Geordi is asked to consult on an experimental weather modification system that is being developed to help a race that's about to join the Federation, whose planet has been suffering from drought. While he and Data put the device through its paces, a malicious computer code overrides Enterprise-D's environmental systems, causing crazy weather throughout the ship. This is further complicated by allegations that the system was rigged to destroy the planet it was meant for and set them back because they were too powerful. Meanwhile, Wesley and Picard are exposed to a highly contagious disease, and must live in quarantine together until they're cleared, but their quarantine unit begins to flood with water.

Next episode: "Corruption"

Corruption

Officers from the Enterprise are called to testify in the court martial of Admiral Eric Pressman, where the ugly business of the phasing cloak conspiracy is exposed, under the looming cloud of a Romulan diplomatic crisis.

Both Will & Tom Riker are brutally dragged in open court for their involvement, each giving slightly conflicting testimonials, as Will is dedicated to exposing everything that he's come to understand about the conspiracy & Tom presents a different more naive and possibly self-serving account of the situation

Meanwhile, Picard and his crew work diligently to uncover just how deep this scandal runs. Was the entirety of Starfleet Defense complicit & sympathetic to Pressman's goal? Will the moral ambiguity of this be just what the Admiral needs to exonerate himself, & what will become of the officers whose fates rest with him, like the Rikers?

Almost a shame that Section 31 wouldn't be invented for two more years. Would've been perfect for this part.

And The Meek Shall Inherit...

The Enterprise finds a colony of spiritual recluses, many species amongst which are some humans outside Federation territory. The colony is dedicated to principles of non-violence, even when it comes to defending themselves. Unfortunately, indications are an aggressive new species, that only recently became warp capable is trying to get themselves some territory. Given that the Federation is much more advanced it's easy to defend the colony and dispatch a more permanent defense, but they have no jurisdiction in that area, and moreover, the inhabitants tell the enterprise that even the use of violence by others to protect them abhors them and they implore them not to protect them. What Will Picard Do (WWPD)?

Next episode: Attrition.

"Attrition" - Responding to a distress call from a Federation ship that has wandered into a battlefield of two other species, Enterprise-D rescues them successfully...or so they think. The "Federation ship" is an alien ship that, knowing of the PD, lured Starfleet to aid them under false comm signatures, not to harm them but to trick them into helping save their lives against the PD. The inquest that ensues has the crew sorry for making things difficult by appearing to take sides in a war that doesn't concern them, but not for rescuing people. Meanwhile, Geordi asks for Deanna's help when one of the engineering sub-departments needs personnel, but nobody wants to work in that section, possibly for a good reason - requesting transfers shortly after being assigned there.

Window Dressing: With the Enterprise doing scheduled crew rotation and training for a month, a number of Enterprise crew decide to enjoy some of their extra time on the holodeck, most notably Picard's Dixon Hill, Data's Sherlock Holmes, and Worf's "Let's beat up on Skeletor" fight program. Reginald Barclay offers to make minor improvements in their programs. Comic mayhem ensues.

Next up: Blossoming Affection

Blossoming Affection: One of Beverly's hobbyist botany projects begins having an eerie effect on the crew. The rare mysterious plants begin spreading a chemical reaction throughout the ship's environment, causing the crew to look like they are all exceedingly happy, even if they are not. Ironically, no one notices at first, because it just seems like everyone is in a particularly good mood lately, until Worf returns from losing a Klingon hand-to-hand combat tournament, & even though he comes back really angered at his loss, he too immediately begins exhibiting the affect effect.

Next episode: All's Fair in Love & Warp

All's Fair in Love & Warp - Starfleet has to acquire a new warp technology that the Romulans have their eye on, even if it means romancing Lyanoa Preese, the developer of the tech, into giving it to them. In order to keep emotions from being involved, they task Data with the job, leading the android to seek romance lessons from the crew to make his advances seem convincing. Her ex, Sterthan Torymols, might have a few words to say about that, however, so it's Worf's job to befriend him and keep him away from the "lovebirds".

Next episode: "Willing Participant"

"Willing Participant" - One of Lwaxana's royal titles requires her to serve as arbiter on a moon of a moon of an ancient colony of Betazed. An obscure clause says that she must be married whenever the moons align with the primary, or the dominant faction may select any new arbiter they choose. The dominant faction has only plurality control, and they intend to seize the property of the other factions via legal trickery to secure perpetual dominace, which would lead to interplanetary and then interstellar warfare to revolt against it. To stop this, Lwaxana must marry, and soon. Picard feels that he has no choice but to marry her and consummate the marriage before the moons are out of alignment.

Next - "In from the Cold"

In from the Cold
Enterprise retrieves a deep cover spy, Dr Andre Connors, after over a decade. Beverly revealed to the crew that Connors is an old flame of hers from medical school. Connors and Crusher quickly realize that they still share a spark. The spy soon begins exhibiting strange behaviors. Crusher is torn between her feelings for Connors and the crews suspicions of him.
Next episode: Heart of Oak

Heart of Oak

A chance encounter with an alien race who communicate through electrical waves causes the entire ship & crew to be bombarded with overwhelming amounts of electrical current, off any scale known to them, causing the momentary heart stoppage of every crew member, & overloading not only the entire ship but also Mr. Data, who the advanced aliens board the ship to remedy,

Once aboard, they realize that Picard is not revivable like the other crew, because his cardiac implant was completely obliterated by their current. When the crew awaken, they find that the aliens have replaced Picard's implant with one of their own organic cardiac muscles which gives him wildly unexpected side effects of supernatural levels.

"Dogs of War" - The Enterprise is en route to stop an interplanetary war. But before they can get there, it's already started. One side has just used WMDs to wipe out 1 billion on one planet. The other side is pausing to decide how many casualties they will inflict. Picard beams into the council chamber during the debate. One faction wants proportional or equal casualties. Another wants to all but wipe out the other side. Picard finds himself in a position where he might have to recommend killing one billion people to save billions more.

Couple

With transporters unusable, Riker & Laforge's trapped away team can't enough power from their shuttlecraft to escape a tumultuous planet's atmosphere. Ensign Wesley Crusher devises a plan to pilot another shuttlecraft down to them with an engineering work crew, who will work together to use sections of both crafts to manufacture a more capable one.

In a sidestory, Data causes some discomfort with his friends the O'Briens when after his failed relationship with Jenna D'Sora, he begins studying them as a successful relationship example

Next Episode: Above Board

"Above Board" - Picard is contacted by a former crewmember, who is concerned about strange orders being given to her by her commanding officer, whom she no longer trusts. He advises she wait and see. She does not and instead instigates a mutiny, which is quickly put down and ends in her death. Now Picard is accused of advising her to mutiny, for which there is falsified documentation confirming he did. He and the crew must clear both their names and figure out what the other captain is doing. The dilemma becomes, will Picard fall on his sword to protect a sensitive issue, or not? Beverly takes a second look at the crewwoman's medical record and autopsy as well.

Next episode: "Undertow"

"Undertow" - Nella Daren ("Lessons") returns to the Enterprise as an adviser who is evaluating a species applying for admission to the Federation. Riker notices errors and oversights in her work. Picard is inclined to give Daren the benefit of the doubt. At the same time, Starfleet Medical contacts Dr. Crusher to inform her that Daren has stopped taking her antipsychotic medication, which is a mandatory condition for her to be on active duty. Crusher determines that the sensitive nature of Daren's duty warrants breaking medical confidence to the captain. This settles the issue with Picard, who immediately orders Worf to accompany him to relieve Daren.

When Picard and Worf arrive in the interview room where Daren and her assistant are meeting with planetary bigwigs, Daren senses that they are there to relieve her because security is present. She draws her own phaser-1 and takes everyone hostage. She forces Worf to withdraw, leaving her assistant, Picard, and two planetary bigwigs in the room.

Outside the room, Crusher informs Riker that, after reading Daren's medical records, she believes that Daren never recovered from the rescue mission on Bersallis III. Daren had a psychotic break. She responded to treatment, but it seems that she was less well than even her therapists had determined. Given the risks, Riker decides that Picard must know this, so he tells Picard over his communicator. Everyone in the room hears this. Daren responds by saying that she wants the new species not to join the Federation, because she believes that Starfleet is a corrupt organization that considers its officers expendable.

Outside the room, Riker and Worf can do nothing. Daren has set her phaser to maximum. Even if they try to beam her out, there is a risk of a lethal discharge from the phaser that could kill everyone else in the room, and an even greater likelihood of increasing the severity of the diplomatic incident already in progress.

A member of the species arrives who says they are friends with Daren. The alien government has granted permission for him to enter the room to negotiate. Riker has little choice but to agree. The alien takes Daren's mind back to a time when they admired a concert performance. Daren reminisces, but then she realizes that it is a false memory. She tries to fire the phaser, but she can no longer move her hand; it is completely crystalized. O'Brien transports her out of the room and deactivates her phaser. Crusher cannot save her hand, but she believes a new one could be grown. Daren is sedated and on her way to recuperate.

The alien used telepathy to distract Daren while neutralizing her ability to use the weapon. Worf is impressed and believes that they will make a fine addition to the Federation. Picard isn't so sure, but he leaves Daren's subordinate in charge of further evaluation. Two Starfleet vessels arrive, one to relieve the Enterprise in the diplomatic mission, another to take Daren away.

The only counsel Picard has is from Troi. When Daren arrived, Troi could sense nothing amiss in Daren's emotional state, because she was still taking her medication at that time. Clearly, she was deeply wounded, more deeply than Troi could read, and it was in no way Picard's fault. Daren isolated herself from Picard. This is Troi's advice. Picard does not accept that and considers whether he should accompany Daren to the rehabilitation colony, to try to reach her. Troi says that it's more likely to cause additional problems, as he is intimately involved in the events that drove her mad in the first place. Troi thinks that the colony Daren is going to is a good one. Obviously, Daren fell through the institutional cracks, and Troi assures Picard that these will be assessed. Dr. Crusher has already relayed to her that there will be no easy fixes. For now, they can only mourn the loss of an additional casualty from the rescue at Bersallis III, but at least there is hope that this one will eventually recover.

Room Inside

After a traumatic away mission that psychologically paralyzes Reg Barclay to the point of catatonia, Counselor Troi decides the best course for his treatment is to actually use his own holodeck program recreation of the Enterprise crew to ease him back into reality gently.

Next Episode: Feet of Clay

"Feet of Clay" - The Enterprise-D responds to a distress call from a cultural exchange team that was sent to interact with and learn from the Sabtissans, an alien race. Apparently, they, all human, have become, through no fault of their own, objects of admiration, as many young Sabtissans all wish to become fully human through various means, and have fallen prey to tricksters who offer snake oil "human potions" and such. The job of Picard's crew? To convince them that humans aren't all they're cracked up to be, even while preserving trade and other dealings with them.
