TNG/DS9/VOY Cameos in ST XI?

AlboOfBorg

Do you think we'll see any character cameos from the TNG/DS9/VOY era in Star Trek XI? I'd love to see at least one cameo, even something such as Tuvok serving as some type of liason for Spock. Any thoughts?

I doubt we'll see any cameos like that, and frankly, I'm not too broken up about it. There are a limited number of characters from the 24th century who might have been alive in the 23rd. And I don't really have any blazing need to see any of them.

Doesn't part of the movie happen in the 24th century? They could still do it, Berman would do it... Please JJ don't do it!

God forbid we get another Admiral Janeway cameo, or old Spock kicking around what it's like to be human with Seven of Nine.

My guess is that Old Spock is the only previously established Trek character that we'll see in the 24th century scenes. I see little point of having any others appear, as I don't see how that can add to or help the story along.

I'm more curious as to the various celebrity cameos we're told to expect.

Riker and Troi in the holodeck could work. Which would also be a great homage to ENT.
And they could explain any canon inconsistencies with that.

Okay, I didn't think anything could dampen my enthusiasm for this movie at this stage, but THAT would do it!

Well, it'd be better than Riker and Troi in a bathtub. :)

TNG-era cameos seem very unlikely. But hasn't it been said that they'll be some references to the TNG era in the movie? Part of the movie is set post-NEM. So, maybe some name-dropping, if not faces.

I seriously doubt it. Maybe Sisko could help Spock go back in time, but I won't be holding my breath waiting for that scene.

I'm still hoping for at least one TNG era cameo. Riker on the Titan, transporting Spock to wherever he want's to go would be great. Isn't Wesley supposed to be on the Titan as well? Let's put him in as well!

I could be cool with Wesley (If It's Done Right!™) -- I can't see how it'd be necessary, but I've never minded Wesley -- but please, no Riker. I'll hurl.

I'd love that^. A Guinan cameo in the 23rd century would be interesting. Dorn was in TUC as Colonel Worf (Lt. Worf's great-grandfather) so he could reprise either role from either era. I really can't see any one from ENT showing up that would work out successfully. T'Pol could still be alive in the early 23rd C but I really can't stand the character.

Spock looks directly at the camera and says

"There were ships called enterprise after this one - oh and one that really sucked and nobody liked to talk about, but THIS is the enterprise I remember"

He then slingshots around the sun in a spacesuit and kills JFK to ensure the future happens. :techman:

maybe a statue of Archer right in front of the UFP bluilding in Paris... just thought it could be cool...

And underneath it says "failure looks like this" as a warning to future generations.

or maybe "this man had constipation a lot".
