I doubt that if only because you don't have to look any further than Taika's other films.

I fully believe this is the film Taika wanted to make but, unfortunately, there are fair number of fans who didn't like what he delivered. And yet, there are plenty of people (myself included) who either liked or loved the film.

Don't get me wrong, I liked it. I jsut didn't love it as much as Ragnarok. And part of me can't help but think that Marvel decided to go even further into the sillyness because people liked that part of Ragnarok so much.

It's the same silliness, it's just a different tune.

Because the silliness has always been there but since IW's ended, the movies humor is somehow more aware of itself. It is like it is no longer organically funny, it is forced.

Apologies if this has already been mentioned, but do we have any idea who Headey was playing in the cut scenes?

Yeah, all of the speculation I've heard is that she played Hera but there has been no official word on the matter.

I do wish they'd tied stuff in this movie back to past ones a bit more.

Like, for example, explain that Jane's cancer is a direct result of her being exposed/possessed by the Aether in Dark World.

That didn't need to be linked though. People get cancer and die horribly and unjustly all the time without it being a result of weird alien possession.

I know the cancer diagnosis was in the original comic story, but it really felt out of place in this movie. Given the light hearted tone, it probably would have been more appropriate to have Jane dying from some alien cancer-like disease rather than the real thing. I am sure it was triggering for large portions of the audience.

I think it started to go off the rails when it was revealed that Korg had survived Zeus's attack. It could have been a powerful moment, but instead it was just another silly joke.

I mean, we knew he had to live through it all because he was the narrator.
