Think up a new, post-NEM movie idea

All my post-NEM stories do not involve any prior crews or characters so
I guess they wouldn't work.

Why not have Admiral Janeway take the Enterprise-E while Picard's on Earth answering for the Battle of The Bassen Rift & the loss of Data? By this time, Chakotay's been promoted to Captain of Voyager. Get Dr. Pulaski & a few other crewpersons loyal to the Enterprise-E thrown together like Kirk did to steal the Enterprise-A, get the Hopewell & others together with Chakotay's Voyager & go kick butt.

I hope that when you say "kick butt" you mean Chakotay's. Because he totally has it coming.

Actually, this is what had in mind.

"Star Trek: The Return"
Story by Jason K. Hauck
Based on "Star Trek" by Gene Roddenberry
-----------------------------------------
Beta Quadrant, Romulan - Federation Neutral Zone.
Assignment: Peacekeeping Convoy

Two years after Kirk takes the center seat of the Legacy-Class Exeter (NCC 1706-C), he begins hearing the voices of The Borg again. Bereft at the loss of his sons & wife, he succumbs to the overtures. In doing so, alters the ship's heading on a strange course off the commercial lanes away from protecting the convoy. Commander Thomas Riker (Kirk's now-Executive Officer) returns Kirk to Starfleet Command, while risking Mutiny charges to forcibly take command of the U.S.S. Exeter.

Beta Quadrant
Aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise-E
Romulan - Federation Border

Admiral Katherine Janeway, while temporarily in command of the Enterprise-E, begins hearing the voices of The Collective as well. Annika, her Science Officer, begins hearing the subtle invitation of the Borg as well. She attempts the same course changes (unchallenged by her crew, taking a "wait-and-see-how-this-plays-out" strategy) and while heading straight for an anomaly that resembles Ambassador Spock's earlier scans of The V'Ger Cloud ---- headed straight into Federation Space.

Earth - Sector 001

While on Earth to answer for the loss of Commander Data & the decision to ram the Reman Schimitar, a newly-married Jean-Luc resumes hearing the voices of the Collective. "Locutus..Locutus..."

U.S.S. Voyager
Gamma Quadrant - just outside the Idran Sector.

Captain Chakotay is informed of the loss of contact with the Enterprise-E and requested/required to pursue, capture or destroy Janeway (if necessary). Failing that, return to Earth & protect the Sol Sector at all costs.

U.S.S. Mandela
Alpha/Beta Quadrant Border, Cardassian "Andak Project".

Captain Morgan Bateson is asked to rendezvous with the U.S.S. Titan. To take aboard Captain Will Riker, as Will was the Enterprise's executive officer & intimately familiar with the Enterprise-E's classified vulnerabilities. They are to assist Voyager to apprehend Katherine Janeway, without destroying a valuable ship, if possible. In the meantime, Will reunites with the Mandela's Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Pulaski (& her beau,) Will's father --- Kyle.

U.S.S. Titan,
Standard Orbit of Romulus.

Deanna takes command of the Titan & required by Starfleet Command to hold her position until further notice. If notified of further instructions, to withdraw to Earth. The Legacy-Class Mandela rendezvouses with the Titan to take aboard Will Riker, to pursue & re-take control of the Enterprise-E.

Q appears while Picard is in office at the Academy and warns him that he has unfinished business left to take care of. The parasite aliens from "Conspiracy" have returned and have already once again infiltrated Starfleet--with the intent of destroying the Federation from within.

Can we have them bursting through someones chest, scampering across the floor and out the door?!

Point 1: What happens next?

Point 2: Does Chakotay end up dead? Because I really don't care how that happens so long as it does.

Wowbagger: Why do you hate Chakotay so much? Just curious. I was going to have a major battle, of course. BUT, this time, lots of main characters & the hero ships are torn to ribbons. Assimilations, personnel are disintegrated, etc. Chakotay & the Voyager are both killed-off early as "Janus" of Borg decides he's too much of a possible liability due to their past quasi-intimate relationship. It could blow back on her to assimilate him & the crew, so they're marked for death. Kyle Riker is killed-off as Thomas & Will are trying to escape and fight another day with Locutus, in the attempt to cure him of assimilation as Janeway did with Seven, however VERY unsuccessfully this time as Locutus fires on Kyle & disintegrates him in front of both Riker boys.

Any further ideas?

Actually, I really don't dislike the man. I liked most of his material once he stopped being the show's Token Ethnic.

However, for some reason, the idea of him dying horribly sends me into paroxysms of laughter. So, hey, if J/C is never coming to fruition, I see no downside to killing him off.

Good idea. My idea:

After dying on Veridian, Starfleet reanimates Kirk by bombing the planet with the Genesis Device. Reanimated, Kirk is assigned as captain of the Enterprise-F, cause the Enterprise-E isn't over-the-top flashy and cool enough anymore.

Picard gets married to Janeway, Sisko is at the wedding and back in Starfleet for some reason, which really isn't explained. Oh and Ro Laren.

So then they get a distress call from Nimbus III. The Enterprise-E, the Enterprise-F, The Defiant-C and the Voyager-A show up to find it under attack by the Remans.

They beat da Remans up real good by doing like a million Picard Manuever Barrel Rolls, but the Remans retreat. But then Sybok, who's in cahoots with the Remans, sneaks aboard the Voyager-A and kills Janeway.

So then Picard gets mega pissed and decides to destroy Remus "I'm gonan destroy Remus." he said as he finally made the choice to destroy Remus.

So then they go to Remus, and start firing Transphasic torpedos, bu then a Reman Borg armada shows up and starts pwning the Federatio nfleet.

But then a Romulan fleet shows up led by Sela onboard the Enterprise-C refitted with Romulan technology.

So then the Voyager-A, The Defiant-C, The Enterprise-E, The Enterprise-F, and the Enterprise-C totally blows up Remus.

The end.

I think that would be the most epic Star Trek movie ever.

Says a lot about the fandom if your extreme parody is still surpassed by the stuff some fanboys have come up with.

Picard is newly married to Bev Crusher (please see pro-lit, "Death In Winter".) I could see a (breakaway) Imperial Romulan State plot during a temporary alliance with the bluegills from TNG's ("Conspiracy") episode & they end-up somehow embarrassing Picard and Starfleet.

Lit = not canon. Future of Trek ain't bound by it. Also, I hated Death in Winter, so I choose to ignore it even within book-verse Trek. Mwahahahaha!

It is reasonable to think that they'd get married, but not required canonically as yet.

Jitty, that was brilliant. Can I repost that elsewhere?

I couldn't see Picard becoming entangled in homicidal tendancies toward the Remans, despite rumors of him being diagnosed with a degenerative brain disease by this point. But I could see newly-promoted-to-Executive Officer Commander Worf becoming increasingly uncomfortable with him, as Picard begins "slipping" from time to time.

After losing his son Joseph to The Totality, Jim Kirk is again a bereft parent, and (he assumes,) fully retired. But, with the shape things are in after The Dominion War, The Federation needs all the talented help Starfleet Command can get.

On his way back from being dissected at a secret laboratory run by an Exobiologist, Dr. Nol, to discover the secret of Thomas' replication, he's sprung from the convoy destined for Riker's original Cardassian Gulag at Lazon II during VERY delicate negotiations with a desperate Cardassian Detapa Council. He was granted (under VERY strict conditions,) clemency / amnesty for his involvement in The Orias Incident (DS9: "Defiant") with the assistance of Benjamin Sisko, Jake Sisko and their new addition Kassidy Yates, mother of the Emmisary's Child. In addition to - (of course,) - Commander Worf, C.O. of the USS Defiant, X.O. of the Enterprise-E, and, a soon-to-be-Captain Will Riker of the USS Titan.

In the meantime, Thomas has become the X.O. of a mothballed Constitution-Class variant battleship, the U.S.S. Kirov, pressed back into service on Romulan Border Patrol. The Kirov is suddenly accosted and destroyed by forces unknown that have neither demanded the Starfleet vessel's withdrawal nor taken credit, after-the-fact.

Thomas Riker, now a Lieutenant-Commander, is taken aboard the Legacy-Class U.S.S. Exeter as Jim Kirk's protege. As Jim Kirk's Executive Officer, he's partially responsible for arrangements being made to provide agricultural support to feed the Cardassian civilian populace ("The Andak Project" see StarTrekOnline.Com for details,) & wants Kirk's help to get him some resolution.

The Cardassians create cloned penguins who are determined who have their revenge on planet Earth. The cloned penguins use a prototype of the Titan's computer to help them in their goals.

Nope. No cloned penguins.

I could see some Cardassian "augments" being used against the Klingons, Remans, or breakaway Imperial Romulan State.

In a brief state of panicked emergency, some augments are loosed on opportunistic jerks such as the Orion Syndicate & Tzin-Kethi, dishonored / renegade Gorn & others, but as usual in 'Trek', things get uncomfortable for the augments' handlers in a huge hurry.

Captain Morgan Bateson of the starship 'Mandela', & its twin sister-ship, the U.S.S. Exeter, under the command of James T. Kirk & his Protege / X.O. Thomas Riker, are dispatched (among other ships in a small battle-group,) to the scene to help contain the problem.
