Things You'd Liked to Have Seen in Star Trek

^I assumed they teleported it out. To add to this thread, the should have brought it up at least once.

("Worf doesn't know how to use the three seashells.")

More TOS. Specifically what drove Spock to Kolinahr and why Kirk left for a desk job. I always felt the novels did a poor job when dealing with these issues.
Well, Kirk was probably promoted to a desk job, because he would be a lot less likely to crash (or cause an interstellar incident) with a desk.

Spock, he probably felt that he had lost his best friend to bureaucracy, and that, since the 'old crew were unlikely to ever re-form, getting back in touch with his Vulcan side was the logical thing to do, especially after the incident in 'Al Our Yesterdays'.

I remember reading the basic plot description for the Voyager season 7 episode "Prophecy", about how they encounter a bunch of Klingons, whose ship is destroyed and they're all beamed over to Voyager.

Seen as VOY was near the end of it's run at that point I hoped these Klingons were gonna stick around for a while, mucking in with the crew. But of couse by the end of the episode they were gone.

I'd have liked the show to have done more of that kinda thing. Although to be fair I'd have liked VOY to have done a lot of things.

The captain's chair/toilet combo: "Excuse me Number One, I have to take a number two."

Search for 'Beavis & Butthead Star Trek' on Youtube. :)

I agree the show needed more interesting cinematography. Like, combat always had them banking around like submarines. They should have moved much more quickly, they shouldn't have only been able to move in the direction their bow happened to be facing, and they should have moved in all three dimensions. Multiple ships in the same place shouldn't have always been oriented the same way, they should have been at all different angles.

For the holodeck episodes, they should have explained in universe how the holodeck handled two people standing farther away from each other than the space of the room should allow. Then they should have used that. Like, somebody is chasing somebody else through a holodeck and somebody says "Hold on. In real life he's standing about ten feet away from me. This phaser is from outside the holodeck." *fire* Killing Game was the perfect opportunity for that.

1) Uhura left in command.

2) An episode where Kirk, Spock and McCoy are captured and absent for much of the episode, (Tholian Web style), leaving Scotty, Sulu, Chekov and Uhura (and possibly Chapel) to save them and thereby giving them the spotlight.

3) I wish TOS Season 1 would've been comprised completely of Captain Pike episodes (back in 1964) before a reboot into the Star Trek we know now starting with "Where No Man Has Gone Before" with Kirk, Spock, Scotty, etc.

4) Speaking of which, episodes highlighting Scotty, Sulu, Chekov and Uhura.

5) More promotions in TNG.

6) Another Family episode.

7) Another Spock appearance in TNG

Kirk, Spock, McCoy and Scott making it to the bridge of the Enterprise-D during their various 24th century appearances. I always wondered why it didn't happen?

I was just thinking about that.

McCoy had a nice "send off" in Encounter at Farpoint. Yeah, it would've been nice to see him on the bridge, but I was ok with it.

But Kirk, Spock and Scotty should definitely have been on the bridge.

^Kirk couldn't have, he died before having the chance to explore the 24th century, but it would have been nice to have Spock and Scotty meet.

The original idea for Too Short a Season of having Kirk as the admiral agonizing over an incident in his past would have been a much better send-off than Generations.

These all would have been great, especially one and two. I love stories where someone rises to the occasion, and the idea of Uhura having to command the Enterprise with a reduced and/or inexperienced crew intrigues me.

A whole season of Pike would have been awesome too.

Glad you like my ideas! I may try to write a Trek novel or short story around idea #2.

I would've liked to have seen Kirk leave Uhura the conn and in charge of Sulu and Chekov.

In fact, I can remember liking that DeSalle was in command that one time, but I remember I also kept thinking, "This should've been Uhura." She's fourth in command. I know it can be shrugged off as DeSalle being promoted, especially since I don't believe we ever see him again after Catspaw.

I've been through official and unofficial publications and can't find anything to back that it was ever intended to be about Kirk.

Yes.

Could have been interesting.
