What, they couldn't have a panel slide into place to cover up the hole left behind? I find that hard to believe.

This would make sense, otherwise you would rob the Voyager of it's ability to enter a atmosphere, whenever the Aeroshuttle was away on a mission. A possible panel could also push down from above the docking bay.

Having the replacement panel (panels) look exactly like the docked Aeroshuttle would disguise from a enemy that the Aeroshuttle was missing, giving a tactical advantage to Voyager.

I think the last time this happened to me was like 5 years ago watching TNG's Booby Trap and Guinan talking about how she likes Bald Men and how she was saved by one. Then I started thinking about Times Arrow and we actually saw it happen. I've been watching TNG longer than any other Star Trek and when I finally realized that, I actually got giddy.

Why would it rob Voyager's ability to enter an atmosphere? I'd assume there would be an indentation with a couple of ports and access valves. Not to mention they would still keep the deflector working while in an atmosphere. After all it's a sci fi show so they would just invert something and it would be smooth sailing over the clouds of some planet in the DQ.

While it's easy enough for us to come up with ways to make it work after the fact, the point is, at the time the production team decided not to do it because of the stock footage issue. Also, having a identical plate would be confusing to a casual viewer, who doesn't know about the cover. Apparent visual continuity problems every time you show the ship.

^ No, like I said, there would be no continuity problems whatsoever. The plate that slides in to cover the hole left behind when the Aeroshuttle undocks, would look EXACTLY THE SAME as the Aeroshuttle does when it's docked there. When you look at the bottom of the saucer, you would not be able to tell if the shuttle is docked or not. Thus, any given piece of stock footage would be useable in all circumstances - whether the AS is docked or undocked.

Casual viewers wouldn't have a problem with it, assuming they watch the whole episode and thus they know at which point in the plot the AS has undocked.

Given that the producers didn't mind creating new footage of Voyager for an episode, it boggles my mind that they couldn't come up with ten seconds worth of new footage that showed the ship from a few angles with the aeroshuttle gone.

I spotted two instances of Deep Space Nine Monitor Madness this weekend:

1. At the very beginning of Tribunal, when Miles and Keiko are getting all smoochy and stuff in the Runabout, there is one monitor on the right-hand side that is quite obviously on the fritz.
2. In The Muse, there is a scene with Jake and Onaya in the Replimat. A monitor mounted on a bulkhead appears to be a feed of the Federation News Service, presenting news from all over the Federation, because for a brief moment, you can see an image of Stratos.

In the Camp Khitomer conference sequence of ST VI TUC when the Starfleet C-in-C first bends down to tend to the fallen "Klingon", he pulls a big-a** shard of glass out of the guy's neck!

In ST IV TVH, when Captain Spock addresses his father near the end and then walks away with Kirk, his uniform pants do not appear to have the customary red stripe of a Command Division officer.

In TOS episode "The Enemy Within", Kirk materializes in the transporter room without his Enterprise insignia patch on his uniform tunic.

Only in the Director's Cut. I hate that addition. It's a pointless addition that sticks out like a sore thumb to me, and the angle is all wrong - it makes it look like the ship is travelling diagonally.

I just noticed yesterday while viewing TNG's Heart of Glory, that there are little "boxes" stuck to the sides of Gordie's visor indicating the "remote viewing" capabilities he had for the away-mission.

At first I thought, "Why are there Lego blocks glued to LaVar Burton's glasses??"

In the Best of Both Worlds, when Shelby instructs them to modulate phaser resonsance frequency, the phaser beam changes colour very subtly.

Lot of things resemble gang signs. People have been shot by a gang member because they were using American Sign Language.

That Data's eyes are dark and not gold in an alternate reality in TNG's Parallels. That was cool.

IIRC, Brent Spiner had an eye infection that week and they suddenly realised they had a rare opportunity to let him have a recovery day and still do his scenes.

Wow really? I did not know that. Might have to rewatch that episode soon to spot it.

In "Star Trek 2." when Spock and Saavik are talking about Kirk after he boarded the Enterprise, the actors are actually speaking the lines in English, we just hear them dubbed in "Vulcan."

In "Q Who," when Guinan goes to her viewscreen after the Enterprise first sees the Borg, Whoopi doesn't actually touch the control panel. Her hand just gets close, and than sits on the table.

In "Generation," a picture of the original series Enterprise can be seen in Kirk's home in the Nexus.

In "Insurrection," Jonathan Frakes is wearing a fake beard in one scene.
