Things you didn't spot in Trek until the umpteenth viewing...

^ Isn't that the same actor from the Seinfeld episode where he told Elaine to "change his diaper"!?!?

If so, kinda fits that scene as well... *snort* :guffaw:

Cheers,

Now that you mention it....Yeah, it does look like that guy. Actually, I think that guy (either character or actor) appeared more than once in Seinfeld. I think we saw him in one of those "living room" clips when the Seinfeld Pilot was airing during that NBC arc.

I seem to pick up something new every time I watch the Star Trek 09 movie but thats quite new.
I remember being pleased when I spotted Geordi wearing the alternative uniform at the end of Yesterdays Enterprise.
I've just dug out my season one TNG and slacked off for an hour looking at some of these!

Something kinda obvious, but I never picked up on. In The Voyage Home, when the whales were communicating with the probe, I just realized the probe changed its position to vertical to match what the whales were doing.

I noticed in the TNG episode yesterday enterprise when riker and the crew beam aboard the enterprise C doctor crusher goes to use her comm badge twice when she finds captain Rachel garret and calls the enterprise for beam out the goes to press her badge again after speaking to the enterprise !!

In Balance of Terror, there is a scene in the briefing room where Kirk tries to hand Spock a book. Spock pushes it away and down. It was odd!

There are little wierd things like that in lots of the episodes. Sometimes if it's an episode I've seen a zillion times I won't look at the actor speaking, sometimes it's more fun to watch the other actors in a scene.

I always loved that scene, which needs noticing the smirk on Kirk's face. He knows Spock doesn't need reference to know about the comet and Spock plays it so 'please, don't insult me' It's one of my favorite Kirk-Spock interactions. I quite agree about the background characters as well. It is a mark of a truly well acted film or TV show when the minor parts are being taken as seriously as the major players.

The President of the Federation in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country is blind.

(I didn't actually spot it myself, but when I read it on the internet I watched the movie again and it's actually really obvious.)
And Red Forman thinks he's one of those damn hippies.

Why do people keep thinking that Ra-ghoratreii was blind? There's no evidence he was. Indeed, we can see him looking directly at people many times. And why does he wear those little eyeglasses if he couldn't see?

It should also be noted that Ra-ghoratreii was supposed to be blind, thus prompting his need for the special type of glasses he used during the rescue operation presentation in Star Trek VI. This fact was stated by Mike & Denise Okuda in the text commentary of the Star Trek VI DVD.

Now granted, text commentary does not equal canon but to answer your question, this is why people think he was blind.

This is precisely the kind of thing I still haven't noticed...

:guffaw: makes me feel five years old again: "ha ha, mr kirk split his pants..."

The glasses seem to reference modern use of sunglasses by blind people. they may also allow him some kind of "visor" type vision.

If you watch the end of TUC, during the assassination attempt and after, he does indeed give the impression of being blind.

Especially when Kirk is yelling at him "Mr. President!" and he somehow fails to see Kirk. Also, when Kirk helps him back to the podium after knocking him down.

Perhaps, but I've seen sighted people act like that when something happens around them.

Here is something I didn't actaully spot while watching but noticed in promo pictures , now when I watch Enterprise I look for it. Both Tripp and Archer had the top of their hair dyed a blond colour. In the show , it just looks like the lights from overhead are shining on their hair, but in other media ( promo pics, interviews ) it was quite noticable. You can see it in show sometimes when you get a side shot of their heads, the top half is lighter then the bottom half.

I'm not even sure if it was dyed for the show, Reed didn't seem to have the same thing done and his hair is quite dark too. It may very well have been a personal style chioce by the acters and had nothing to do with the lighting on the show. I guess it only really stood out because it very obvious in photos but not at all in film,

Cheers,
Kytee

Yeah, I always thought Ra-ghoratreii was just dazed and in shock after almost, you know, being killed and all that.

Perhaps all of Kirk's trousers are "crouch-less," hard to tell in that shot of there are simular panties underneath.

:lol::lol::lol: (now I'm giggling) :lol::lol::lol:
