Things you didn't spot in Trek until the umpteenth viewing...

In TOS: "Charlie X," there's a scene where Charlie and Kirk get on a turbolift and exit onto the bridge. Kirk is in his gold shirt at first, but exits wearing his green shirt. There's an episode of TNG where Picard and Troi change uniforms after a turbolift trip, can't remember which one though...

Opening credits: The guy walking through ten forward in TNG, and Spock's face in the comet in DS9.

The crew member behind Data in Generations who does his own fist pump when the Bird-of-Prey is destroyed.

Also, watch carefully whenever a TNG-era Klingon speaks. They'll usually have grungy, sharpened top teeth and smooth, shiny bottom teeth ~_-

Yeah, I meant the guy walking in the observation lounge.

Here's a screencap of Spock's face in the comet dust. It's more obvious in motion, as it "turns" to the left as the camera pans across it:

Its Frakes, not Franks.

Having been a TNG fan from the start, I didn't realize it till I saw one of the movies when it came out in theatres, Insurrection I think.

I've been watching select early episodes of TNG, and I'm amazed by all the new production errors and goofs I've seen.

In "Lonely Among Us", there are two scenes where you can see a curtain in place of the main viewscreen when Picard's ready room door is open. Hard to tell from the screencap, though. http://tng.trekcore.com/gallery/albums/s1/1x08/lonelyamong162.jpg

And the black cards that were used to cover up light reflections in the early years. Once you see them, you can't un-see them. http://tng.trekcore.com/gallery/albums/s1/1x26/neutralzone003.jpg

Riker's playing trombone --and botching of "The Nearness of You" at the beginning of "Future Imperfect" is a sly, subtle foreshadowing of the later revelation that tips him off to Barash's trick that I'd not picked up on until very recently.

The other thing I never really noticed till rewatching the series this year -- Worf can be a real douche sometimes. It's hilarious!

I also love the scene in the Federation council chamber at the beginning of Star Trek IV where, after the Klingon Ambassador has his hissy fit, someone, off screen and in the stands belts out "YOU POMPOUS ASS!"

It seems I always come back from a weekend of watching Trek with at least two new tidbits for this thread... There's so much to discover!

In Macrocosms, just after Neelix has been stung, Janeway scans him, and her diagnosis is: "You're running a fever, and there's fluid in your lungs." In a very offhand way, Neelix corrects her: "Lung." A very neat nod to Phage.

In First Contact, the Borg Queen is not once referred to as the Borg Queen. Only the end credits call her that.

Similarly, Shran is not named in his first ENT episode, "The Andorian Incident". Neither is the non-speaking Thon. Their names are in the script though. Tholos and Keval do get named canonically, though. Shran has his name mentioned eventually in "Shadows of P'Jem".

That you can actually see the nacelle out the windows of the Rec Deck in TMP during the big briefing scene.

Only in the Director's Cut. I hate that addition. It's a pointless addition that sticks out like a sore thumb to me, and the angle is all wrong - it makes it look like the ship is travelling diagonally.
I said the REC DECK, not the OBSERVATION LOUNGE. It's a painted backdrop outside the windows, not an optical effect.

Okay i have to ask - was that REALLY intended to be Spock's face, or is it an artifact of some type?

I think it's just after-the-fact. Why would they put Spock's face into DS9's credits anyway? He was only mentioned offhand in one episode, and never appeared in it. There's no reason to have an easter egg like that. Especially when it's almost impossible to see.
