    Since we're talking grammar now...

I saw this image caption on an article in the Star today:

Does this look wrong to anyone else? My brain keeps telling me that using "costed" in that context is wrong, and it should just be "cost" instead.

You can only use "costed", if you use "cost" in the sense of estimate the cost of something, otherwise, the past tense of "cost" is "cost".

It might be because the word costed is less common in American English.

One thing's for sure, "costed" is not properly used in the article.

But as your link says, "it is not unheard of in Canadian English"! :p

We're actually running up to an election in my province, so the phrase "fully costed" has been bandied around a lot lately. But as @Discofan notes, the context in the article doesn't fit with the usage of "costed".

Apparently, my bladder has its own life-jacket..

Seriously, I'm supposed to tell my doctor what drugs to give me?

    Just say "No"

    :wtf:

    :(

    Yep, that's often the sequence...

Luckily for me I never get lonely because I am largely indifferent to other people.

Usually I'm a total loner, but I feel I'm still getting used to living by myself, first time in like 8 years lol. I visited my sister's family a few weeks ago and I feel I've been a bit out of sorts since coming home to my empty house, and I'm completely not controlling my wine. Then I check my emails before going to bed and had to send out some apologies when I woke up this morning.

Picking up somebody's tombstone and throwing it outside a cemetery fence. There is sits, too heavy for me to move, but thankfully not broken. You'd think Hitler was buried there.

    Declarations of love?
    Declarations of hate?
Confessions you spat in someone's coffee?

No, don't tell me, my imagination is creating plenty of scenarios all by itself. In fairness I've used the pm function in here whilst drunk a few times.....

Don't beat up on yourself. The sad reality is that people do not think about your personal angst in that they are thinking about theirs.

Oh no angst, it's too far the opposite that's more my problem, lol. @Spot261 pretty much guessed it, lol, I get wayyy too happy when I'm inebriated.

@Discofan oh dear that's got to be so terribly frustrating! I hope you don't have too much going through autopay, getting that all updated can be so very miserable.

This is why I leave all my cards at home. Except for the ones I absolutely need that day (usually I only have my driver's license and one credit card).

Which reminds me of something that frustrates me: My own store won't accept Apple Pay. :scream:

I've lost count how many times I've got embarrassingly affectionate whilst drunk, lol

    Everyone is my best friend!

Better that than people who get very feisty when they're drunk, sometimes they wake up with a black eye and a broken nose that they don't remember getting.

    Oh dear, that sounds awful!

We joke that my sister is a mean drunk and I am a happy drunk, lol. She'll get really nasty sometimes and you've got to be very careful around her, she loves to get into arguments. I'm like Spot261 but I'm already too friendly while sober, I go to really embarrassing levels unfortunately.
