Nicholas shoots himself on right side of his head yet the blood also hits Glenn on the right side of his face.
1) Nicholas is out of bullets (hence he switches to knife) but then suddenly has a bullet to kill himself.
Glenn's not dead. This is mis-direction. They made a clear point to show Nicholas fall on top of Glenn, and a clear point to NOT show Glenn being ripped apart.
At the beginning of the episode, there's a call-back to the pilot where Glenn calls Rick "Dumbass" on the radio. This mirrors the end of that episode, where Rick's horse is eaten and he escapes.
Notice the different (clean) wardrobe and different gun holster in the picture. So it doesnt happen immediately after the dumpster scene. He has been back home to change. The picture of Glenn withwould suggest that he's either.Jesus
1) alive and well for future episodes (magic dumpster theory).
Or
2) bitten but helped back to Alexadria by said character so he can say goodbye to Maggie (alive but bitten theory).
The "dumbass" comment last night was made before Glenn was in trouble.
Or perhaps it meant that the "dumbass" was an early warning signal to Rick that he was close to being in a similar situation and needed help.
Of course they could be just filming some flashback scene in the adjacent location and Steven has just come over there to chat.. And the whole crew seems to be watching something together.
I have actually enjoyed this season quite a bit more than the previous two in spite of the dumbass decisions made by the characters. Glenn is also a character with which I have grown to love over the past six years. That having been said. If Glenn somehow survived the zombie bottleneck from which there is no escape, I will be super pissed. That's just shark jumping on an epic scale.
This show loves to pride itself on taking no prisoners when it comes to killing off cast members (as long as said cast members aren't Rick, Daryl, Carol, COOORRRRRRAAALLLLLL! and Glenn). Killing Glenn would be a double-edged sword. It would be sad to see him go, but it would also let you know that nobody is safe in this show. So for Glenn to roll under the dumpster while the zombies shuffle off for no reason would be the biggest cop out of all cop outs and suck the dramatic tension straight from the show like the air out of a hull breach.
But, I also know that wasn't Glenn being torn apart, unless Glenn's entrails are located in his esophagus.
That's not a bad idea. Dumpster might be there to block it if the cover is missing. What if there is a man hole cover under that dumpster?? Not sure how he would open it though.

Notice Steven's clothing--he's wearing his holster.

Well, it would not be the first "great escape" by WD characters. Slow Tyreese was completely surrounded by walkers when the car was stuck in walker parts, but he just stood there, and hammered his way free. The walkers were closing in--some within arm's length, if I recall, but he survived.

...which is why I referred to "dumbass" as:
