The unnecessary reboot/remake of the week thread

  • Thread starter Rowdy Roddy McDowall
  • Start date
Her character doesn't exist in the novels. They had to make her up for the show to fill the Bosch void since Bosch is Amazon property.
I gave up on the tv show after the first series (the lead actor just doesn’t work for me as Haller) but have read a few of the books and did wonder if this was the case.

Johnny Depp apparently in talks to do a sixth Pirates of the Caribbean movie.

Ugh

Not sure which was the last one I actually watched, the third? The mistake they made was taking the interesting, fun side character who was great in small doses and worked effectively as an antihero and almost a force of nature that both the good guys and bad guys had to work around, and turning him into the protagonist!

I've seen all of them, though there is definitely diminishing returns. The first is the best, though I felt the second was still worth watching. Third and fourth are completely forgettable, the fifth I didn't think was that bad, though still nowhere near as good as the first.

For my tuppence, the POTC movies should’ve been like Indiana Jones, with new standalone swashbuckling movies. Instead they tried to make it more like Star Wars, with ongoing storylines, a love triangle and an ESB-style ending for the second movie. Which is when I bailed.

I think a new Pirates movie could actually be good. Lots of time has passed since the last one. Depp has had many things happen to him since then and is no longer consider an A-list Star so I could see him very motivated in wanting it to be good and not just something for a paycheck. Try and also get Gore Verbiniski back.

Maybe it could focus on him dealing with a son or daughter who are in their early 20's. I can think of some good pirates for him to go up against. Calico Jack, Black Bart and Stede Bonnet as "The Gentlemen Pirate." Or Ching Shih a Female Chinese commander.

Separate from Bruckheimer, some solid sources tell us that the continuation won’t feel like just the nth tale of Captain Jack Sparrow, rather the next chapter will focus on Margot Robbie’s protagonist with Sparrow as a side character. Essentially, an evolution of the franchise.

Prison Break'in yeni versiyonuna onay verildi. Umarım orijinal dizinin ilk iki sezonu kadar eğlenceli olur ama bu sefer bırakma zamanının geldiğini anlarlar:
