The unnecessary reboot/remake of the week thread

The Michael Mann version was fine. We don't really need another one and even if they did one I feel like this would be best used as a comedy movie were you set it in the 80's. Have it star Paul Rudd and Craig Robinson.

The new version of Prison Break has been greenlit. Hopefully it’s as entertaining as the first two seasons of the original but that they know this time that’s the time to quit:

Those two guys don't look happy about it. ;)

A new adaptation of A Christmas Carol with Johnny Depp as Scrooge.

So a creepy version of Ebeneizer Scrooge? I'm not sure how sure how that work work. And to be honest, I don't see him as an old miser. I find it difficult to picture Depp as one given how most of his movies have been milking franchises dry. Speaking of which, I'm surprised we don't have a DCU (Depp Connected Universe) thing going on.

It could work. Their are creepy aspects to the story, what with it having ghosts and whatnot. Plus it seems to have some talent behind it in Ti West and and he writers worked on Legion, Tales from the Loop and Oblivion.
