"Scrubs" Rebooted at ABC

A refresher for those who have forgotten, but we had an entire episode where the plot was Dr. Kelso was being forced to retire because policy is once you turn 75, you have to retire. Kelso had bosses, and even if Cox took Kelso's place, he's still have bosses and it would be highly unlikely he'd get them to change that policy.
John McGinley is in his mid-sixties. It's been a long time since I saw an episode of Scrubs, and I always just caught random reruns, never saw it straight through, but I don't remember anything establishing Cox's age.

Ah, Scrubs is one of the shows where Wikipedia deigns to have a page on a fictional character. Cox is a year younger than McGinley is IRL.

Just looked up photos of McGinley today. He's aged rather well, though he's now more puffier, looks like a cross between Cox and Kelso.

The question is: how would his character git in?

Times changes, back then I could retire after working 40 years, now after about 52 years.

I did a quick look, to see if I could come up with an answer, ended up coming up with a unsure mixed bag.

Google A.I. claims Dr. Cox celebrated his 30th birth day in the episode "My Day at the Races". A Scrubs wiki site says the character was in his 50's in season nine. IF we go with the simplified 50 years of age for season nine, his character would be 65-ish.

Even Mr. Burns got an age. Hell, he got at least three different ages from season one to season thirteen! Surprised Dr. cox never got one.
