The unnecessary reboot/remake of the week thread

Someone by the name of Kia Jam, who owns K. Jam Studios, has purchased the rights to the script, "The Day the Clown Cried", the infamous Jerry Lewis movie, and plans to film an updated version.
Okay, well, at least we can’t accuse them of taking the easy route with this remake.

I don't think anyone can go lower than when some very bad filmmakers secured the rights to Easy Rider and made a horrible prequel/sequel in 2012 that goes against what the original movie had to say.

It would be like making a 9 to 5 sequel about how the three women found true happiness as homemakers and baby incubators while their husbands were the sole breadwinners and made every decision.

From the "You can't make this sh*t up file" comes news from Deadline Hollywood that Chick-fil-A is planning on launching their own family friendly faith based streaming service.

Why did I have the idea Jack Black had retired from acting?
He mostly seems to do voiceover work for animated films these days. A cynic might say that was why he was so quick to distance himself from Kyle Gass after the latter made a joke about the assassination attempt on Trump, during the Tenacious D tour recently.

I had a quick look on Google and it looks like he made some vague comments about retiring after the second Jumanji film but seemed to row back on them fairly quickly.

Sooner or later they I assume or going to get Jack Black to do a sequel to "School of Rock." Not sure how it's not already happened in this day and age of reboots and sequels all the time.

Sounds like something an executive would have been saddled with as part of a dare. "What? No, no no! We ain't chicken, we'll make it happen! This, I promise you!" Thus, their streaming service was born...

I've heard the Chicken Soup for the Soul company isn't doing so hot, so maybe they bought it?

It's really not that weird. Soon everyone will have a streaming service. Kind of like how most businesses eventually ended up creating a website for their business. It will most likely just just be a bunch of videos of fans talking about their favorite Chick-fil-A meal. At least that will be the goal. It will soon just end up being filled with both right and left wing trolls taking control of it until they end up having to close down the comment sections.

Chicken Soup for the Soul bought Redbox, then ended up driving it into the ground along with their own company by refusing to pay the studios the licensing fees for the movies.
