The unnecessary reboot/remake of the week thread

I think you meant A Million Ways to Die in the West.
Once Upon a Time in the West should never be remade. Five minutes of humor does feel accurate for that one, though.
I took it to mean that he was implying that just as The Orville is basically a Star Trek reboot, masquerading as a spoof, but with minimal humour, he should do OUATITW, in similar vein, ie ostensibly with humour but actually a pretty good remake?

It is possible that I misunderstood of course.

Time to get the bottle out Nerys Myk if your reading this because you KNOW where this post is going. The Orville can't be a Trek reboot because it IS a Trek show. Star Trek:Orville is even one of it's better ones to boot.

Rob Marshall (Chicago) is rumored to be the latest filmmaker to come aboard the Guys and Dolls movie.

Disney+ is going to make The Phantom of the Opera as a young adult project.

It's set in a college. Mostly takes places in a Sorority House at a college dedicated to the arts. Jenna Ortega has given up on music after one of her Tik Toks went viral for he singing badly in it. She has been mocked ever since then. But then she hears music coming from the basement to discover a former Student of the school living in the basement who sings at night played by Timothee Chalamet.

He wears a scarf he won't remove to hide the hideous wounds on his neck. He tried to hang himself when his girlfriend dumped him. She use to live in the Sorority House. Now he just lives in the basement singing sad love songs at night eating only food and drinks out of vending machines. He falls and loves with Ortega and acts violent to those who mock Ortega's character and wants to marry her but she can't, not because of his neck wounds but because of his violence.

It will also just be called "The Phantom" because they for sure don't want them singing opera music.
