Interested but not hyped. I expect DSC's usual weak points such as overstretching the great mystery of the season and getting very emotional (at inappropriate moments). I hope the stakes won't be set too high, the show could benefit from the lower number of episodes.
Never heard of him, had to do a quick check.

If MA isn't totally misleading here, we don't need to talk about feelings, just facts. This guy's ramblings are about as interesting as a flat Earther's opinion on climate change. He collaborated with fricking Midnight's Edge who came up with the infamous "25 % different" nonsense. They dared to violate his head canon.
His idea of scientific plausibility is also adorable, I mean everyone misses those good old times when Trek was basically hard science fiction. The following refers to the space orchids from PIC's 1st season but you get the point, replace them with the spore drive or whatever:
(22:32 to 23:54)
The list only scratches the tip of the iceberg of classic Trek's massive amount of outright space magic, technobabble, and other "liberties." Discovery brings up real things like binary black holes and ergospheres occasionally, which is essentially the highest level of scientific accuracy the franchise ever achieved just like TNG sprinkling it with pulsars, neutron stars etc.
Conclusion: Robert Meyer Burnett, a totally unbiased and serious reviewer.
You do realize this qualifies as a spoiler, right? I'm not personally affected, but other people probably want to know as little as possible and this thread has no spoiler tag, so you should edit your post.
