Spoilers The Strange New Worlds Starship Thread™

All of the CG assets in this show are the color of wet concrete. I don't know who thought that was a good idea.
Yeah, looking at the Enterprise "Leaveing Spacedock" I couldn't differentiate that well since Everything is the same color.

Put everything in a Yellow tint light.. Sorry.. the sun is bright White..

So there's at least one significant change to the Enterprise this season, a light-ring behind the main sensor dish. Did anyone notice others?

They also definitely changed the front of the neck to be much more bended, almost like on the JJprise:

That was much more angled before and had a clear kink:

Not sure how I feel about this, the hard angles fit better with the rest of the ship. Also still not convinced of the SNW Windows line with the kink at the saucer top. Two types of windows on one ship just look weird.
I'm also still missing windows on the lower sensor dome. IMO it looks too flat without them.

The shuttles in seasons 1 always had a nice, bright metallic surface effect. I have always wondered how the new Enterprise would look with the same surface? I'm guessing pretty good.

Like..on the SNW Enterprise you have darker grey offsetting panels for the aztecking, right? However the base grey underneath it is actually the exact same color as the TOS Enterprise was.

Hoping that Timothy Peel or Jonathan Lee show we Starship lovers some background info. We got spoiled by Dave Blass with Picard Season 3. I still want to be spoiled!! Give us the deets fellas! :)

There were subtle blues, greens and browns on the TOS E's hull as well, plus a mild rust color in a fractional-ring around the top-front of the PH to the front of the registry number. You can still see the original paint and penciled-on grid lines on the miniature at the Smithsonian. IIRC, they specifically did nothing to the top of the saucer to preserve the original paint job when they restored the rest of it.

That's a really interesting find I didn't notice until you mentioned it, and clearly an intentional visual change as they even added a black outline along this new curved neck as visible below. I wonder then if the destroyed saucer we saw in the trailer adjacent to the Gorn attacking does result in the destruction of at least this Enterprise (time-shenanigans maybe?) though I presumed it would be the Cayuga initially as Batel's ship.

The Klingon ship is the NCC-1279.
The Starbase 1 vessel is the NCC-1276.

So this ship is a legitimate Starfleet class, and not a kitbash? Then I wonder why they said it ‘seems to be’ a Crossfield, and why the Enterprise picked it up as an ‘unidentified vessel.’

The incremental changes are interesting. Eventually, we could make a graph that shows how the USS Enterprise looks in each year from 2245 to 2285.

Memory Alpha says SNW2 is set in 2260, is that correct?

The thing is, each time we see the ship (first in DSC, then SNW S1, and now S2), the changes make it look less and less like the TOS version. So there’s no way that in 5 more years it’s going to look like that. Nor should it.

It was refitted from the TOS "Pilot" version (Constitution-class Beta, as per STO) to the Eaves-type in one go*. It can easily be reverted.
