You can fairly easily make out "Scale in Feet" next to the yardstick, esp if you zoom in on it.

Did 13 incg color or black and white TVs have assumed feature in 1968. I watched Star Trek on one on NBC, and I don't recall such a feature on the TV myself.

I was wondering about that. Rewatching it on VHS and it was difficult to make out.

Well, confirmation of the Archer having a one-ish deck thick saucer makes it a little more understandable that has a crew of three. Even if the Galileo Seven fit into a much smaller ship.

There's just something about the simpleness of a saucer based design. I like some of the 24/25 century designs, but when it comes to my favorites, I always seem to fall back to the 23rd or even the 22nd century.

To show increased size--keep the bridge the same but increase saucer layers.

Yeah I've always hated the Oval and Spoon shaped saucer sections of the 24th century design aesthetic.

So the Archer is basically the Saladin, scaled down to the Archer-class scout of the novelverse.

Now let's start a new Starship Size Argument thread where people insist the Archer can't possibly be that small!

You’re not making any sense.

They’re kitbashes of the Enterprise. How can they look more TOS when they use parts directly from it? Same warp engines, same bridge module. In the case of the Farragut the exact same saucer. Even parts of the secondary hull are mushed into the bottom of Farragut’s saucer.

They don't have that squished flat look the SNWprise does next to the original. I feel it lost some of it's majesty.

What King Daniel said. Also, those weird windows along the saucer's edge.

But most importantly: They look chrome & shiny! The Discoprise has that NX-01 blackness, like a ship from the alien-franchise.

It looks like a starship. It does its job. It doesn't need majesty or whatnot. It looks fine.
