Well, not to Trek fan standards anyway.

I honestly prefer that one. The thicker pylons look better with those nacelles.I'm sure this has probably been posted before, but in case anyone hasn't seen it:

A comparison of the original John Eaves and Scott Schneider design for the Enterprise that was submitted, and the final version that was used (they changed the design without their knowledge). The original is much closer to a pre-TOS Enterprise. Just take out the thicker nacelle pylon.

Yeah but pictures are virtually identical except for a minor lighting / coloring difference, and the nacelle pylons.
I will admit that the pylons are my biggest and honestly only major complaint with the new Disco Enterprise.
From what I know that happens all the time. It’s concept art, it’s rarely ever final.they changed the design without their knowledge)
Yeah they submit it and changes are made. Like the Kelvinprise being designed at 366m but JJ wanted to shoot in a brewery and the shuttles had been designed Runabout sized so plans changed and the ship was modified to reflect that. From what I know that happens all the time. it's pretty ugly lol![]()

I wonder if it's a Scout or Destroyer?![]()

I guess it might be considered a Scout, since they were there to observe the planet.I never liked the idea of Starfleet using the term "Destroyer" and I can't recall it ever being used in any iteration of the show. I'd prefer the term "Frigate" instead.
Either way it's a nice little homage to the Franz Joseph design but I'd like more info on it, drawings plans, sizes (assuming the nacelle isn't just the same as the Enterprises with a blue Bussard). The saucer appears deeper but it may be just the way it looks in the shot.
