I'm pretty sure the Discoprise and the TOS Constellation feature in historical plaques at Starfleet academy in the Picard S2 season opener, so we're in that universe now.
Here's my head canon for why the Discoprise looks different to the SNWprise, which looks different to the TOSprise: refits. Lots of refits.
And the reason why the Enterprise C doesn't match the ship on the Observation Lounge wall: also a refit.
Or it's just fun.
I know, we don't do fun here but I've heard of the concept.
Because he is too slavish to the TOS aesthetic. It does not fit in with the rest of the franchise.

The changelings will say: About time, it's not the 80s anymore! Then the continuum will say: Well is it also not the 2020s anymore? And the changelings will respond: Oh that was just for a few episodes, you can't make a whole series like that. They'll explain that materials and methods are completely different now, and that it's all irrelevant window dressing and necessary change at the same time. In the end it turns out they don't even see the differences themselves. The reaction to the eventual TNG “visual reboot” is going to be interesting. I’ve always thought a big part of the reason so many are willing to throw the TOS look out the window is because it’s the oldest series. It’s easier to redo because more people grew up with TNG-ENT. But you redesign the E-D or Discoverse Worf, etc… reaction might be different.
Pretty much except for the hotel lobby that was the 1701-D Bridge; the majority of the rest of the interior design was all reused sets and set pieces from the various TOS feature films Circa 1979 – 1986The trouble with the TOS aesthetic is that it only looks 20 years more dated than TNG instead of 100, but TNG's designers did their best!
Drexler has said Worf in PIC season 3 isn’t a discovery Klingon. Matalas has also said Worf looks like worf. But you redesign the E-D or Discoverse Worf, etc… reaction might be different.
That's an assertion supported by the flimsiest of reasoning. No reason to buy it, at all.Drexler has said Worf in PIC season 3 isn’t a discovery Klingon. Matalas has also said Worf looks like worf.
If they were going to redesign the -D they would hehe done it in Picard.

Maybe it's just me, but I've thought Doctor Who always looked cheap and dated as hell. I've tried multiple times to get into the "modern" era of the shoe and I just can't get past how utterly cheap the whole thing feels. And you can say that story is what matters and bla bla bla, but if a show looks like utter garbage, that's a point against it.
