Spoilers The Strange New Worlds Starship Thread™

Bigger on the inside makes you think "I don't get the science of how that could work, but I see how it could be practical."
Detached parts make you think "I can see how you could pull that off using tractor beams, but I don't see the point."

Is one more nonsensical than the other?
Yes.

I don't really see how it could be practical. It strikes me as magic in the most illusionist sense of the idea.

I at least prefer the aesthetic of detached. Looks nice to my eyes.

Seems like a hell of a waste of resources.

Maybe just the opposite. Maybe maintaining that type of dimensional transcendental space takes a lot of power and fell out of fashion as dilithium first became scarce then far more scarce in the burn.

Sufficiently advanced technology seem like magic to us. but how can you not see how the ability to create huge spaces in small containers would be useful.

We have very different eyes. To me it looks absurd.

"Argus Array" is a name that's been used for real clustered telescope concepts, both optical and radio. Since the mythological Argus was a giant with 100 eyes, it seems to be an appropriate name for telescopes that consist of fixed arrays of many smaller semi-independent units. It may have just become a generic term for whatever the most powerful Federation telescope of this sort happens to be – in much the same way as Jupiter Station in the 2150s is definitely not the same Jupiter Station of the 2370s.
Yep, great point, that makes sense to me. :techman:

FWIW, at the 442-meter scale the window placement on the interconnecting hull works out to deck heights of 11-12 feet. The engineering hull? 10-11 feet. The saucer is the hardest to tell, but is probably less along the rim - we now only have windows indicating that it's two decks high, but the STD version may have had three levels of windows there.

I don' see difference between TOS Enterprise and SNW Enterprise. They are identical. Only difference is if we can call it difference is some kind of modernisation. But to be 100 percent honest I can't tell the difference. If you show me 1966 model and 2022 model it's the same. They did good job. Well done.

Looks like a DSC style Miranda class in the one of the other docks

:adore:

Length of the struts kind of makes me think precursor to the Cali-class instead of an actual Miranda but idk.

Better look at whatever that hatch is on the rear of the Enterprise

I wonder if that's the cargo bay seen in some footage with Uhura in an EVA suit almost being blowen out?

... try putting on glasses? XD

For those who don't like the slit in the pylons, I think that Miranda, or whatever it is, has them, there is a dark line going down the side that could be the inside of the gap. More visable in this higher res shot from the Ready Room

It just dawned on me why Pike beamed out.
That style shuttle can't connect to the round docking ports.

He probably didn't want to take the time to walk/turbolift all the way to the bridge from the shuttlebay.
