Only makes sense. Starfleet loves to reuse saucer designs in various classes. Maybe we'll get to see an unmodified Crossfield! It seems to have a crossfield class saucer. Which is interesting.

Hmm. I wonder if they would ever give us anything reminiscent of Hunter-G's Crossfield redesign.Only makes sense. Starfleet loves to reuse saucer designs in various classes. Maybe we'll get to see an unmodified Crossfield!
I'm still hoping for this...Hmm. I wonder if they would ever give us anything reminiscent of Hunter-G's Crossfield redesign.

Or Brandon Minnick's redesign with deep orange Bussard collectors per TOS.

looking closer, it’s the rear end of that Crossfield kitbash from later in the episodeAt 1:39, there is a Federation ship docked at Starbase 1. It's partially obscured. It appears to be a new design.
it's like a kitbash of the crossfield(saucer) and nx class(engine)Oh yeah that’s def a new design.
I wasn’t responding to you.it's like a kitbash of the crossfield(saucer) and nx class(engine)
i know i was talking about that ship at 1:39 it has a crossfield saucerI wasn’t responding to you.
Oops. I completely missed that it was more visible in later shoti know i was talking about that ship at 1:39 it has a crossfield saucer
Well if the saucer is the same scale as the Discovery's, than it's at least 10-11 decks.Huh... Looks like it goes only 3, maybe 4 decks deep, tops.
Very thin ship. but it does have deflector.

Also here is the same class docked at starbase 1 (brightened up and flipped). Those impulse engines are copied right from the NX-Class

That's what I'm figuring. As I mentioned over in the episode thread, they basically took the existing Crossfield, took out the middle/aft bit, gave it a triangular secondary hull, and slapped on some new Nacelles.I wonder if this is what production Crossfields look like? Maybe the Discovery and others were just highly experimental derivatives of the design.
Honestly, this is what I am leaning towards in the absence of /until the presentation of any evidence to the contrary.I wonder if this is what production Crossfields look like? Maybe the Discovery and others were just highly experimental derivatives of the design.
