I got to chat with a designer on Strange New Worlds a month or two ago and he said we had some great new sets to look forward to in season 2. At the time I was talking about Enterprise sets so I think that's what he was probably referring to, but it could be anywhere!
If that does turn out to be more Enterprise sets, where else do you think we might see? Where do you
want to see?
From memory we've already got the bridge, conference room, turbolift, medical bay, transporter room, engineering, corridors, Pike's quarters, Spock's quarters, and...cargo bay?
I think I remember reading about a lounge/bar set. What else might we see if we're lucky enough to get more? Maybe nacelle maintenance? Deeper into engineering subcompartments? Jefferies tubes?
Is the cargo bay the shuttle bay or have we yet to see the shuttle bay? I don't remember.
The size of the Enterprise in SNW doesn't bother me, it just means the rest of the Enterprises would need to scale a little. IE the Enterprise-C would likely have to bump up to 620m, the Enterprise-D to 690 meters and the Enterprise-E to about 750 meters.
Or not, whatever, its a spaceship.
I think the Excelsior/B is the only other one due for some resizing, since the previous number was always too small for it in the first place, and shots of the class in TNG were very obviously larger. A model maker at ILM said that there was no real definitive answer to the scale of the Excelsior as it was not built with one in mind, and assessment of the model's features along with comparison to other ships indicate it is certainly larger than the figure previously printed in magazine.
Once you scale up Excelsior, its size in the shots it shares with the Enterprise D make a lot more sense. Anything else is on a case-by-case basis, no need to scale C or D or E in response.
But since the Excelsior class is not currently relevant in any actively running Trek, it doesn't really factor into anything important, its scale is not a pressing matter. It just comes up in relation to the Enterprise's new scale, since the two classes had multiple interactions.
