Maybe Finn's a little more fluid with whom he's attracted to.
I'm sure there's enough fluid to go around.

While TPTB are definitely being progressive with their three stars being female, black, and Hispanic... they will never have a prominent gay relationship. Way too controversial.
How is it controversial in this day and age? Doctor Who has had several prominent gay characters, including one who ended up getting his own spin-off.
From a Christian perspective, homosexuality was another punishment on Eve for getting the two of them kicked out of Eden.
Star Wars Predates the Book of Genesis, so there can't be any Homos in Star Wars.
That's science, bitches.
Imagine being a Clone Trooper Psychiatrist.![]()
TFA awakens plays the romance elements very subtle in this film - there are a couple of knowing looks and glances but nothing more and you could complete read it as friendship but I notice a lot of commentators are suggesting the hints of a romance are in there?
So will Disney be brave and expand the Poe/Finn romance in the second film?
It's not like FOX would have offered a discount to all racists and homophobes if they could prove that they were racists and homophobes.Wasn't HBO almost sold to 20th Century Fox, though?Racists & homophobes can't afford HBO.
Notice he said nothing about how prominent said characters would be. Don't be surprised if it's a knowing glance or embrace of a side character with his/her unnamed partner, with the actual character details expanded upon in a novel.I figured I'd give this thread a bump since Abrams himself has now come out (yes, an intentional pun) and said that future Star Wars movies will include gay characters.
Although it doesn't specify Finn and Poe, this announcement still does kind of take the wind out of the sails of all those "Disney won't risk offending homophobes" arguments earlier in the thread.
Did any of you see the finale of Gravity Falls? There wasn't any kissing, but they had two male characters basically declare their love on screen and in dialogue! In a "marketed-to-kids" cartoon no less! Of course, that whole series was stretching the envelope in a lot of ways already. But i do agree with Mach 5, Disney will never, in a million years, have anything even remotely resembling a homosexual relationship in one of their own franchises because it's a risk for the box office and that's all that counts.
