The romance - will it go anywhere?

Bonz, you know how they say that best men are married or gay? That's a lie which allows you to sleep at night. The best men are gay. Prettier, nicer smelling, better built, cleaner, attentive, compassionate, intellectually well rounded, you know, all that crap women think is important. The best men are gay and there is an invisible, impenetrable wall between the best men and all women, that none of you can dig through or burrow under. It's an elite super class of perfect men who think vaginas are only good for collecting together stray pens and pencils building up near where the landline is screwed into the wall.

Landlines are almost extinct.

Whatever you're smoking, I want some.

Landlines almost being gone worries me a little. So many phones are either battery powered or electrical. In days past, if the power went out you could still call as long as the telephone lines were up. Now if the power goes out, and your cel phone's battery gives out after a day or so, you have no phone.

Just walk down to the nearest payphone then

Half of this tech is prewar.

They used to have turbines on bicycle wheels to power lamps on the front at night. I've no idea why they stopped that. Maybe some fool was accidentally electrocuted in the buttocks?

It's a good idea for camping?

A what?
;)

Those have more or less been entirely removed from this area for the last decade.

It seemed to me that Finn/Rey was being teased.

But Poe/Finn would be cool too. I don't think it's right to assume every pair of male characters with a close friendship is a sexual relationship. Two guys can't be emotionally open with each other without being gay?

If they did do Poe/Finn that'd be a pretty cool relationship. But I don't think it's correct to assume.

I don't think that homosexuality would kill the box office revenue for Star Wars. Maybe ten years ago, but now for the first time over half the country is in favor of gay marriage and even people who aren't in favor of gay marriage are mostly tolerant of homosexual romances short of marriage. It's freaking Star Wars.

But all I personally see between Finn and Poe is a very close friendship.

Isn't that exactly what's assumed about male/female friendships, too? ;) Yet you do believe, for whatever reason, that a romantic angle was teased.
Of course they can all only be friends.

Which means slightly under half the country is still ignorantly homophobic. Trust me, I work in an office full of them  And the real issue isn't domestic receipts, but international. As others have said, huge markets like Russia and China are extremely homophobic.

I'm not even sure how Poe and Finn could be considered a romance. I didn't get that vibe at all in the movie. If anything, there was more of a budding romance between Finn and Rey.

I can kind of see it from Poe's perspective, but Finn seemed to have the hots for Rey the instant he met her.

Maybe it is
Poe has the hots for Finn, Finn has the hots for Rey and Rey will have the hots for Poe. One big sexually frustrated love triangle.:luvlove::luvlove::luvlove: :klingon:
