You're not doing anything wrong, 'likes' are usually self-serving and are not about the person getting the like but rather the one giving it.

Your comment about social media in general is reflected here in these forums. People think they are making friends, finding validation, preaching to the converted when it's all just fleeting. A pass time for entertainment.

There is something I miss with everyone being so into Facebook etc. They used to be the ones that would Email me and now they expect me to hangout on Facebook! Not going to happen.

I agree. Even this board is a form of social networking. It’s somwthing you really can’t escape in the digital world.

What has always defined TBBS for me is that I have absolutely no idea what posters look like . Yes, some including myself have posted a few photos. But it always come down to the words.

I guess one major difference between kids today and previous generations would be that they'll have no shortage of pictures from their childhood. They'll have a ton to choose from.

Yes! I lived a pretty wild life, lots of partying and hooking up. Very glad smart phones became a thing after I takes my ways.

I actually tend to focus more on a user name & what conceptualization I might make from that association. It REALLY throws me off when there's like holiday name changes. I'm not even sure who the hell I'm talking to anymore, even if some of their original name is still in there

It's also a little tough when the user name is less lingual & more alphanumeric, like @GNDN18. It's more awkward free associating that lol
