The Most Disliked Episode of TNG, Finals: 2021 Edition...

I am not surprised that these made it to the final part of this game. The only crime of "Transfigurations" is that it was boring.

The remaining are dreadful. But I will vote for "Code of Honor" for a few reasons. First, it's only the second episode made after the pilot. A show can be forgiven for some missteps that early. The other two occur in season 5 and 7... no excuse there. Second, it had a great Data/Geordi scene that illustrated early just how awesome their friendship is. Third, it was a rare Yar focus, and I really liked her showing Lutan the holodeck fighting.

And honestly, if you look past the casting issue, it's not that terrible.

Yes, other than the casting issues, how was the play, Mrs. Lincoln? :bolian:

Though I maybe could see myself saving "Code Of Honor" over "Journey's End", now that I think about it.

But for this round I'll definitely want to go "New Ground" That actress playing Worf's mom is GREAT, I love her scenes. Also great is the scene where Geordi is bursting with excitement about the test of the soliton wave, but his audience is an emotionless Worf & Data.

It's fun that Geordi actually has the line "This is going to be like being there to watch Zephram Cochrane engage the first warp drive!", well before "First Contact" could have been in anyone's plan.

Also, they should have kept at developing that soliton wave thing! That tech could have made The Burn a total non-event.

I mean New Ground is the one that inflicted all the other Worf and Alexander episodes on it, for that alone it needs to be punished.
But at the very least, it is no actively offensive like Code of Honour and Journey's End are.
So I guess I have not other choice but picking New Ground

Wow! I missed a lot in a short time!

NG is the least terrible of the three left IMO.

Code of Honor might be the "Song of the South" of Star Trek, but I'd rather watch it than dreck like New Ground or Journey's End. Plus, that fight scene at the end was cheesy fun.

New Ground is saved. Alexander was a somewhat annoying addition to the crew, but it wasn't his worst episode.

Said this in a conversation, restating it here.

Code of Honor is like Song of the South.
Journey's End is like a fat drunk guy barfing on himself.
New Ground is like a frat house diarrhea epidemic.

Song of the South may be racist, but I'd rather watch it than either of those other options.

There's also the issue that the aliens were always meant to be racial stereotypes, just that before the director's casting choices, they were meant to be reptilian Samurai drawing from old East Asian and especially Japanese stereotypes. And you can still kinda tell that if you just listen to the dialogue; the way they weave their deceptions, their severity, their insistence on labyrinthine rules of protocol, ceremony and "politeness" and really, especially with the alien lady, just put her in a kimono and you have a stereotypical "Dragon Lady"

Journey's End is such a boring episode, whilst it's also a terrible last appearance for Wesley.

However, Code of Honor isn't just a racist episode, it's just terribly paced and poorly acted. There was some good music in it, I guess? And a good fight at the end.

My final vote for this game is "Code of Honor", for the same reasons as I stated before.

As much as I b!tch & whine about it, dear sweet Jesus forgive me but I'm gonna vote :brickwall: for "Code of Honor". I agree that it is a horrible episode but had the casting been all white or even a mixture of races it would have just been dreadful instead of blatantly racist. It was the 3rd episode of a brand new series that was attempting to live up to its predecessor. They tried too hard & failed.

I just CANNOT buy that Wesley was the next Mozart & had the Trek version of "the Force"!

Code of Honor" - 3
"Journey's End" - 2

Wow, what a final twosome!

I am stunned by this, but my last point will go to "Code Of Honor." Both episodes are horribly offensive, but "Code Of Honor" at least has some amusing bits in there. "Journey's End" is also racist, but unlike CoH it's also dull, and completely trashes a core character in his final appearance.

"Journey's End" - 2

EDIT: well, posting just seconds after @Alice_27 , I guess I have saved "Code Of Honor" and made "Journey's End" the winner!

Ugh, makes me feel a bit creepy! Literally as I clicked post I thought "I can only give 'Code Of Honor' a point because it's the third point, it would feel too gross to be the one to actually save it..." But here we are!

I mean Journey's End IS terrible awful. I was just debating with myself while you guys saved it....and I think, even with all the terrible awful in it I might have saved Code of Honour as well.
Code of Honour made me want to slap the director in the face. And possibly some of the script writers. But I didn't really hate any of the characters in it.
Journey's End however, made want to slap Wesley in the face, in addition to some of the script writers. And I guess that is worse.

Ah I don't find Wesley all that bad in most of his episodes. Bit bland, but not offensive.
But in Journey's end.....yeah there he needs to be slapped. And possibly have a cartoon anvil dropped on his head.

Also, just looked on the first thread of this game and....this is the first time Journey's End "won".

Journey's End, New Ground, and Code of Honor were all awful. If Trek were pizza, they would be olive, pineapple, and anchovy, served up cold and so stale that chewing through the crust is like trying to eat a paperweight. ANY of the three would have been a worthy winner.

But JOURNEY'S END it is, then!

Why do I suddenly feel the need to find/start/resurrect an "I loathe Wesley Crusher" thread? (That's a sarcastic, rhetorical question people ;))
