The Mini-Series You Would Like To See

I would like a Picard mini series where he goes off on an adventure with the crew of a new ship, not as Captain but a special diplomat on a specific mission. It could give him an ending, and a new post Nemesis crew a beginning. Not necessarily an Enterprise, but perhaps it might as well be.

Hmm, maybe a combo of some of the stuff I've read here.
Romulan war, but, like in the books, from the perspective of one Trip Tucker working for section 31 undercover in Romulan space. ( take that series finally and toss it out an airlock..)
The Enterprise cast is still young enough, and Scott can take off his series to film some "Admiral Archer" stuff.
If not section 31, then maybe some Starfleet Intelegence stuff. It would be kinda like a CIA drama, Agents on distant planets, undercover work maybe. Maybe SI has its own small fleet, with cloaking devices, special sub section of the Treaty of Algeron that alows covert work with a cloaking device.
Would LOVE a series based on the book Serpent amoung ruins. but take it deeper than the Ent B story line.
Or and Elias Vauhns SI agent series.. that be cool, set during the Lost Era..
Lots of ideas to mine!

I think if you're going to go the mini series route, it's gotta be about specific and aforementioned events or characters in the Trek verse. I'm not sure the "bold new adventures of Captain Slapnutz aboard the USS Ennui" would cut it for a limited run.

Character biographies, Federation history, depiction of events only mentioned. That's the path they'd probably go.

Doing these direct to streaming series does open opportunities. We not only seen a Star Trek show, but seeing a new Lost in Space, and a continuation of The Karate Kid.

I am sure many Star Trek fans want to see something continued from the other Star Trek shows like The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager, and Enterprise. Many of the cast members are still acting and not doing anything major. It would be a great opportunity for them to come back to the role that made them famous.

Star Trek First Flight.

Takes place in the mid 2240s. After the Klingon conflicts over the past decades, Starfleet has become insular and their ships don't leave Federation space. It's been that way for years. They've become bordered off, keeping their technology and resources to themselves.

Captain Robert April inspires Starfleet to get over their fear and push forward with a new era of exploration. He's designed the first constitution class ship, the NX-1700. The series takes place on the 1700 under the command of April on the first test mission to chart unknown deep space in decades. Ship is badly damaged by the Klingons but saves multiple worlds in need of Federation assistance. It makes it back to Earth in one piece. April is rewarded with command of the next constitution class ship.

Miniseries ends with the launch of the NCC-1701, as an elderly Jonathan Archer watches from his home in upstate New York.

Series would keep the retro-futuristic aesthetics of TOS. 60s-inspired designs.

I actually really like that idea.

It could simultaneously be intimate and epic. Explore Vulcan culture with only occasional humans like Amanda and Burnham. An odyssey across space, and worlds spoken of only before in passing, on his quest for truth, the revelation, a talent for easing his fellows burdens, a journey that brings him back to his brother, half-brother.

Does Burnham have a relationship with Sybok?

Crime and Investigation show set within the Federation.
Legal Drama.
Political Thriller.
Survival show with a stranded crew.

So many popular kinds of shows, that can be set within the Federation timeframe/universe, and may or may not involve following Starfleet officers. There is no need to limit your ideas to just Starfleet Crews. It just needs some courage and creativity.

I'd like to see young Lt. Commander Sisko fighting the Tzenkethi war. Bring back Hertzler as the Vulcan captain of the Saratoga.

I'd also like a realistically animated season 8 of DS9. I liked the storyline from the novel reboot with a Jem'Hadar elder sent back by Odo to observe on the station (not so crazy about the mirror universe crap that devolved into, however).

I also like the idea of a young Worf short series. Didn't he accidentally kill another boy as a child, or was that not canon? I'd like to see him develop his intense discipline over the years, see how his adopted parents taught him about his culture, and learn why he clearly loved his adopted parents so much. I'd also like to see how he dealt with anti-Klingon prejudice.

He did, I just watched the episode of DS9 where he talked about it. They were playing some sport and both jumped to catch the ball. Their heads collided and the other boy died.

Star Trek: Vanguard would be a great TV series.
And after that Star Trek: Seekers. I like the small size and submarine feeling of the hero ship.

Enterprise - B

Movie style uniforms, but keep the ship a traditional nineties excelsior ship. Update the some style, but the bridge was already touch screens and gui. Keep the austere industrial quality of the sets, the red and formal style uniforms. Traditional exterior shots in clear beautifying ambient light. Keep the shadows for the night shots.

More buccaneering adventures on the frontier. Klingons in managed decline, Romulans being Romulan.

Whole new crew, twenty five years since Generations, so no Harriman, no Demora sulu, but maybe Tuvok, digitally de-aged.

25 years after Generations (2318), the Romulans had gone into isolation from the Federation for seven years (the Tomed Incident in 2311). I would set the miniseries around whatever the hell is going on at Tomed in 2311.

And, yeah, you can have a completely new cast, with Alan Ruck's portrait (next to Walter Koenig, perhaps) in the ready room. Or they could bring back age-appropriate Captain Harriman as a seasoned veteran and completely redeem his character for all the doubters.

I imagined that the Tomed incident was later, but yeah, if it could fit with a B plot, mind the pun, I’m all for it.

Would also like to see Harriman redeemed. He must have proven his salt to be given the ship in the first place so it’s a shame we never saw that.
