Spock: Doctor, I regret they elected to keep certain things fromyou. Will you come with me please?

 

[Leandar]

(Spock takes McCoy from the bridge to a set of quarters. McCoy steps in and is shocked when he sees Pike sitting in a corner of the quarters)

McCoy: What is this, Spock? Captain, are you all right? (Pike beeps twice for "no" and then begins continually beeping "no") I see that you're still signaling...

 

[JanewayRulz!]

SPOCK: Doctor, one moment, please.

 

[Leandar]

(Spock steps over to a com screen and puts in a tape with a recording supposedly from Kirk and plays it)

"Kirk" (false recording): Kirk to Dr. McCoy. I'm recording you this message Bones, so there'll be no misunderstanding. You are not to disturb Captain Pike with any questions, simply take good care of him. Follow Spock's instructions to the letter. Kirk out.

(The whole time, during the playing of this recording, Pike continually beeps "no")

[Bridge]

HANSEN: Sir, scanners report an object following us. About the size of a starbase shuttlecraft. Shall we reverse helm?

 

[Leandar]

Spock: Take no action, Mr. Hansen.

 

[LeadHead]

Hansen: But at our speed, they'll never catch us. In case they want to reach us.

 

[Leandar]

Spock: You have your orders, Mr. Hansen. We'll make no contact.

 

[LeadHead]

Mendez and Kirk aboard Shuttlecraft

Mendez: Starbase Shuttlecraft One to Enterprise. Come in, please. Enterprise, Commodore Mendez and Captain Kirk. If you read me, you are ordered to reply. Repeating it on all Emergency Frequencies, Jim.

 

[Leandar]

Kirk: Spock is headed for Talos IV all right.

 

[LeadHead]

Mendez: Pulling ahead of us fast. Fuel is down to 63.3. If we turn back now, we got jus barely enough to get us back to the base.

 

[Leandar]

Kirk: Shuttlecraft to Enterprise, come in. Shuttlecraft to Enterprise, come in. Enterprise, come in!

 

[LeadHead]

Computer: Library Computer.

 

[Leandar]

Spock: Lock on to sensors. Measure object now following the Enterprise.

 

[LeadHead]

Computer: Computed. (Did the computer really just say "Computed?" lol) Object is a Class-F Shuttlecraft. Duranium Metal shell, ion engine power-

 

[Leandar]

^^Yes it did.

Spock: Stop. How long before shuttlecraft's fuel supply forces return to base.

 

[JanewayRulz!]

SPOCK: Take no action, Mister Hansen.

 

[Kolrad]

Computer: Computed. Shuttlecraft is already past point of safe return.

(Spock turns as if about to speak, but does nothing.)

Kirk and Mendez aboard Shuttlecraft.

Mendez: We coast.
