"The Menagerie" Line-by-Line

Spock: Their call letters check with a survey expedition. S. S. Columbia disappeared in that region approximately 18 years ago.

TYLER: It would take that long for a radio beam to travel from there to here.

Side note: I thought it was agreed earlier that Pike's beeps would count as lines of dialogue, so even though posting "Pike: Beep." or "Pike: Beep, Beep" isn't very exciting, it counts as a line "spoken" by a character.

Spock: Records show the Talos Group has never been explored. Solar system similar to Earth, 11 planets. Number 4 seems to be Class-M... oxygen atmosphere.

I dunno about the Pike Beeps, I dunno if they really should count as lines. I'll aide by whatever everyone else decides.

Number One: Then they could still be alive, even after eighteen years.

I thought it was just seen as including Pike's beeps in the dialogue. Personally I wouldn't want to do it like that. However, perhaps we should ask CoveTom for a ruling since he's the one in charge of this razzmatazz. lol If he agrees with you, then I'll be glad to do it that way. Honestly, I never thought of it as dialogue in of itself, but rather just a sound effect. I guess it just depends on your point of view. Uh oh, here I go getting all Obi-Wan Kenobi on us! lol

Pike: Not without any indication of survivors, no. Continue to the Vega Colony and take care of our own sick and injured first. You have the Helm. Maintain present course.

Pike: Drop by my cabin, Doctor. (Pike closes the communicator and goes to his bed and lies on it. A moment later, a knock on his door and Dr. Boyce comes in with a small case in hand) What's that? I never said there was anything wrong with me.

Pike: That's right. Unless we get anything more positive on it, it seems to me that condition of our own crew takes precedent. I'd like to log the ship's doctor's opinion, too.

Pike: Well good, I'm glad you do. Cause we're gonna stop first at the Vega colony and replace anybody who needs hospitalization and also... what the devil you pouring in there, ice?

Boyce: Sometimes a man tells his bartender things he'll never tell his Doctor. What's on your mind Chris? The fight on Rigel VII?
