I didn’t know you could borrow movies at libraries.
Considering movies like Matrix are on streaming services, I could see why there would be no waiting list for it.

Dude, most libraries even have an app where you can get ebooks and audiobooks and movies for free! It's why devices like Kobos are more economical than Kindles in a lot of places despite costing 3x as much up front - they allow library apps right on them, whereas, depending on where you live, there is no legal method of getting books on a Kindle without purchasing them from Amazon.

They also have things like museum passes, park passes, and tons of other great stuff. Even mobile internet hubs for if you're going on a trip and don't want/can't afford to use your data. Library options are something so few people take advantage of. Definitely check out your options.

Back on topic, I think the most damning thing to be said about this movie is that it's been about 7 months since I saw it and I've already forgotten pretty much everything that happened in it.

I got 5 libraries within driving distance, ten minutes max. Many have free classes, 3d printing and video game check out.

Here in Canada, you have access to all libraries within the province you live in. Even if you live near a tiny library (like I currently do) you have access to all the others. Place a hold on a book, dvd, or recording and you will have it within a month. Currently you can't do that with streaming movies, but you can with ebooks and magazines.

In Ireland you can go on the national database and find out which library in the country has your book or DVD and it can be sent to your own library.

Not every Ontario Library is part of the inter library loan program but yeah a good chunk are.

Most Ontario Libraries are part of the Ontario Library Consortium giving them all access to the same streaming/downloadable contents on... Hoopla I think? Or libby? I'm not sure which. I have both, I can't recall which is connected to the Consortium.

We have a very robust library system here in Albuquerque, which got into the digital book check out early on. I haven't checked out a book in a while, but I went with my wife to our nearest location a few weeks ago and it was bustling with kids and folks doing research (or at least taking advantage of the numerous free internet computers). It also has quite the extensive music/video selection, probably due to donations from folks who have moved away from physical CDs/DVDs in favor of streaming.

If you are hunting for a particular book and know the information there is the World Library Catalog which can help you track down materials and see how they can be loaned. I live next to another state, have library cards for both county systems, and see if it can be transferred or what formats are available.

Here's a link for the WorldCat.
