Spoilers The Mandalorian season 2 discussion

I liked the episode but honestly:

- The insta travel time is starting toi get to me and it's been pretty egregious in Season 2 (but hey, Star Trek does it too).

- When Mando got to the temple and put Grogu on the stone, sorry, but the way they wrote it and the way it was acted it felt
like a player character moment from a Star Wars game like 'The Old Republic' -- "Hey, I turned in what I needed...can I get the reward for finishing the quest, NOW please...I clicked on everything...damn server lag..." ;)

And the thing that really bothered me (believe it or not) - Mando takes off the Jet Pack, puts it down, but when the proverbial shit hits the fan he never picks it back up and puts it on (and it would have been useful in getting back to the Temple) -- and further after his ship is destroyed - yes, he gets teh spear; but we never see him having/wearing his Jet Pack again...where did it go?! :wtf:;)

Here's someone that might pop up that would be a OMG.. Mara Jade... :vulcan:

Short episode, but lots of great stuff in it, Boba Coming back was quite nice, and a bit bummed that the Razor Crest got Poofed.. ( Still waiting for a model of it.. (Cough Cough, BANDAI!)
Kind of nice not having a preview for next episode.. It surprises ya!!

and yeah.. Mace caught a passing speeder...

Honestly, that bothered me too. Like, they were trying to make sure he couldn't fly after the Dark Troopers. Like, they have made a point that Din can control it but didn't bother this time?
The confusion for me was high on that one..

That episode felt like a bridge between what's happened before and setting up for the finale, and in other shows that would be considered Filler. Here, that episode was great, especially the shocking end to the razor crest. This was a great start to the end of the season and I'm excited to see what happens next.

I've actually been meaning to post about this. This has been driving me nuts, this is one of the only weekly release series I've seen that doesn't give us any episode promos. Doom Patrol, The Boys, and Star Trek: Discovery all do.

If Darth Maul can survive being cut in half and falling down a hufe chaft... Then Mace Windu can survive...but him then being absent from the world seems off.. Plus a lot of time has passed, so carbonited Mace Windu could explain.

Honestly, the Slave 1 is so ugly, uglier than even the Razor Crest or Millennium Falcon, that it would bug me for a while in the show. But, it would not surprise me completely if they did, though it makes little sense, given the lengths that Boba just went to get his armor back.

I'm wondering if Bobba Fett & Fennec Shand (Ming-na Wen's character) are going to be a romantic couple?

Both are warriors and technically she's indebted to Bobba for saving her from death.

Maybe Bobba will ask her to marry him and raise the next generation of Mandalorian, that wouldn't be such a bad thing?

So we can have Disney’s Ailyn Vel? I have no issue with that.

Someone translated the Mando'a text Fett showed Din. It references an EU character that has yet to crossover to canon fully

Interesting, though not surprising they'd keep Jaster Mereel. I mean if Jango was a foundling, it stands to reason that someone mentored him, and Jaster Mereel is sitting right there, so why not use him?

For those not in the know; Jaster Mereel was at one point (as told in the Tales of the Bounty Hunters anthology IIRC) supposed to be Boba's real name, with a whole backstory about him being a disgraced lawman. When AotC came out that obviously didn't work anymore so they later retconned the whole thing and made Jaster the Mandalorian that took him in after he was orphaned.

Interestingly, the person that orphaned him was a character just called "Vizla", the leader of Death Watch. It's possibly they won't use that little detail given the way things have fallen in canon...on the other hand it would be interesting if this is part of the reason Jango left. The "I give my allegiance to nobody" line certainly sounds like something Jango imparted, and the idea that he was basically a child soldier pressed into service by those that murdered his family would speak volumes about his outlook, and why he's not officially recognised as a Mandalorian. Such soldiers are rarely acknowledged by the states they fight for and certainly not by those they fight against.

Oh and for those saying this is "restoring" Fett as a Mandalorian, it's really not. He's still not Mandalorian. He was raised by a man who was raised by Mandalorians, and inherited some Mandalorian equipment and seemingly little if anything in the way of creed or culture.
Also remember that Fett's status as a Mandalorian was always meant to be questionable at best. Going back to the early WEG materials and other tie-in media from around the time tESB & RotJ came out, it was always an overt question as to whether he was himself a Mandalorian or just using their armour. IIRC Lucas's idea even back then was pretty much this, plus the notion that he was also a left over clone from the wars.

It's hardly "insta travel time" just because we don't' see every minute of the journey. For all we know the trip out to Tython took weeks. Indeed, the fact that he'd heard

On the other hand, in ANH the Falcon seemingly got from the outer rim, to the core, then back out to the outer rim in the course of a single day. So even if it was a short journey, it's hardly inconsistent.

Yeah, that could have been handled better. They should have at least showed it being damaged in the firefight or something.
