Spoilers The Mandalorian season 2 discussion

The one thing that now bothers me is with gorgu still being an effective infant at 50 years old; Yoda at 900 should probably just be (at best) middle aged given the longevity of his particular species; yet he acts like 900 is a long life for him.

Grogu is clearly not an infant.

Well that was fucking NICE! The build up to the end of season 2 is coming along nicely........

I've been fairly critical of the show all along (deservedly so!) but the last several episodes have been quite good. The show is really on a roll now and I'm very excited for the last two installments.

The show is really in a groove now.

Good episode but Boba turning up was rather random. I don’t understand why he wants that prisoner as well.

Side note: it's been bothering me all week what those beads were on Ahsoka's belt last episode...and it literally just dawned on me that they're probably from her old headdress that her silka beads were affixed to. Neat detail if true.

Surprisingly action heavy...though I suppose if you're going to have Robert Rodriguez, this ought to be the one.

Nice to finally see Boba's credentials validated on screen, and it seems his sense of honour from TCW is intact (not that it does anything to dull his brutality.)
Also nice to get a more definitive answer to the "Jango question"; a foundling raised by (presumably) the regime that tried to oust Satine when she was a teen. Probably not the same zealots that Dyn was raised by given his attitude towards The Creed, but one of the more modern leaning warrior factions. That he left with his armor says he probably wasn't interested in House Vizla's dreams of a restoration and went independent. Hell, he may have even been one of the Protectors and just left when Satine took the throne.
This does raise the slightly morbid idea that he stripped that armour off of Jango's decapitated corpse, and pose the question of how he replaced the helmet since he lost Jango's trying to kill Windu. I suppose Jango could have had several sets, but where from? They're not exactly easy to come by.

The Dark Troopers felt like a little bit of a let down, though I suppose they're saving them for the finale.

I've been expecting Gideon will get Grogu back by the end of the season, though I rather thought it'd be an tESB style cliffhanger. I'm a little surprised it's happening here with presumably two episodes to mount a rescue.

Not surprised the Razor Crest is toast. They've been kicking the crap out of that thing all season. Besides, if he's going to be a father with a little one in tow, he's going to need to upgrade to something a little roomier. A YT-2000 perhaps?

So everyone from the first two seasons will team up to get Grogu back?
A fair assumption. Cobb Vanth is a possibility I guess, but I doubt it. Bo-Katan seems obvious given she's actively hunting Gideon and The Darksaber. Ahsoka...maybe? I mean on the one hand she's probably already moved on, so how would he find her (Bo-Katan again?), but on the other hand the chance to have her cross paths with Boba again, especially now he's grown into *that* face seems too good to pass up. Plus of course: lightsabers! Though it's also possible whoever may have sensed whatever was going on with the seeing stone will fill that role. Luke and Ezra seem like the obvious choices...but part of me kinda wants it to be Barris...

I feel like the New Republic might get involved too by the end of it. That squadron of local X-Wings at the very least.

Oh okay, so he is an intelligent murderer, who knowingly eats eggs of another intelligence species because hey, he's hungry.

He also uses his force powers to go after a shiny no that's part of a critical ship control system, just to annoy the Mandalorian.

Gorgu is still the human equivalent of a toddler of at most, three or four years old (human equivalent); at 50 plus years, as Star Wars humans gauge time.

Since Yoda had no issues vocalizing human speech; I'd posit that Gorgu is still between one or two years (human equivalent), as he can't even vocalize words yet.

Boba turning up has been foreshadowed since the first season.......and he was IN an earlier episode THIS season. They want that prisoner who appeared in the first season because his specialty is BREAKING PEOPLE OUT of prison facilities.........seriously have you been paying attention?

I know that. But turning up just now instead of the other planets.

That episode. Compliments to the Chef.
I really love this show. This is quality Star Wars.

So did Luke get the message? It’ll be awful
If it was a missed call
Luke or Ezra, Mace Windu, Mara Jade? I wouldn't be surprised if they started bringing in more elements from the old EU.

Mace is dead and Ezra is lost somewhere. Luke is the only one

Well, I got to hand it to this episode, it actually made Boba Fett interesting again, which hasn't really been the case since AOTC, IMO. And with them establishing that Jango was a foundling, I guess that the bit in Clone Wars about him not really being Mandalorian was simply the truth from a certain point of view? IE, he's not of the Mandalorian nationality, but rather of the Mandalorian creed.

I fucking hate Boba Fett. A character literally wrapped in kewl who outside of the movies (particularly the EU) didn’t do shit. In the EU, he was a prime reason I got bored. Always the kewl character, man of few words, who was always amazing at everything he did. It. Was. Annoying.

Having said that...

He was pretty cool here. They actually managed to subvert my expectations and make him a decent character. Or at least the start of one. He honestly broke the mold of being the character we’ve known in the past. And it was, as another said in this thread, a pretty badass episode.

Sorry to see the Razor Crest go down and of course Grogu will be saved soon. But definitely a good hook for the rest of the season.

I haven't been as impressed with the action as most people. I haven't commented on it because, well, it's still TV with TV limits and everyone else really enjoyed it, so whatever no point mentioning.

During this episode I couldn't help but think "Wow, they really kicked up the fight quality this episode"

Then I saw: Directed By Robert Rodriguez.

Ah, now it makes sense!

Strange how Mando went to Dune first and not Bo when he knew Bo was actively searching for Gideon.

I'm guessing everyone is expecting a recurring character team up and a heist that goes wrong to "rob" the Imperial cruiser of Grogu and the Dark sabre, with a boss fight with the dark troopers, whatever they are?

What's the point of durasteel armour if it doesn't stop blasters OR pointy bits of metal?!?!
