Spoilers The Mandalorian season 2 discussion

So, here is my bet for the Glorious Seven+ story that is undoubtedly upcoming:
Mando (Team lead), Carl Weathers, Cara Dune (so regretting to have read up on the actress), Bo-Catan, Inmate bounty hunter who I dont care for and who will certainly die in the upcoming episodes, Agent May, Boba Fett, Cobb Vanth. And then as a last minute cavalarie ala Captain Marvel we'll have Ahsoka swooping in.

The show making the Fetts Mandos again is technically going against the Word of God, I mean George Lucas.

But I wonder how many people will complain about it, since it was an unpopular change.

Alright, time to admit that I was wrong. Fett was a decent addition to the lore, largely because he expanded on both Boba and Jango's fitting within the lore. That ability for Mando to find common ground between himself and Jango as a foundling was a good way to bring them together.

I watched "The Jedi" and "The Tragedy" back to back just to get a sense of the progression. The Jedi was very well shot, very atmospheric and kind of underwhelming at the same time. It was, sadly, quite predictable. Ahsoka was wonderful to see though her fear around training Grogu was surprising, I guess. I don't have a good word for defining how I feel beyond that. But, the combat was well done, both between Ahsoka and Din as well as Ahsoka and Morgan. Though, I felt horrible for Morgan's guards. Guy, that opening sucked.

The other surprise was Fett's appearance in "The Tragedy." I appreciated that he still was carrying the gaffi stick, and it was nice to see how those could be utilized other than beating up Tattooine teens. Though, in my opinion, Fett was more interesting outside of his armor than when he retrieved it. Sadly, stormtrooper armor continues to prove to be useless. Also, I felt bad for the stunt actors having to fall so freaking hard in that armor.

The stormtrooper drop ships as well as the mortar troopers were good additions to the Imperial Army.

Sorry about the Razor Crest but it did them a favor since Din didn't know it was being tracked. Probably for the best.

Overall, it was a very surprising two episodes. Good set up for the next episodes. Though, the Dark Troopers are a not starter thus far.

Sounds about right to me.
Mace is dead and Ezra is lost somewhere. Luke is the only one
There is a chance this is after the Rebels epilouge, so Ezra could show up. Ahsoka already knows that Thrawn has been active in the area, so if he's out in the open like that, Ezra probably will be to.
There is also always a chance the message could get to a new Jedi survivor we don't know about yet, so I wouldn't say Luke is the only possibility.

Quinlan Vos would work! He'd get his first appearance in live-action canon other than in the background of Mos Espa in TPM.

I've been wanting to see Boba Fett use the knee-rocket launchers since I first saw them on the action figure in '80 when I was a kid. It was fucking awesome.

I loved this episode. The show has been amazing this season.

I am hoping that the Jedi Grogu may have connected to is a new character. I won't mind if it's not, but I want to see a new Jedi.

If they keep throwing in more Jedi, they'll break the conceit and pretense of the OT. (And the ST, really.)

I wonder if they might try to just age Cameron Monaghan a decade or so. I haven't played it, but the game is really popular. And it is canon.

And Monaghan is a great actor with a lot of TV experience.

Wow, what a great episode. I think I liked it better then the last one (which was fun and exciting but I wasn't super impressed with Dawson's acting, which brought it down a tiny bit, while I loved the guest cast in this episode). Its cool to get a confirmation that we did kind of see Boba Fett in Season 1, and I enjoyed seeing Ming-Na Wen's character again. I'm really not excited to see Bill Burr again, and I can think of many reasons why getting his character on the team makes absolutely no sense, but whatever. We've gotten Boba Fett, and will be getting at least a bit more of him presumably, so I'm pretty happy.

I do want to specifically mention a few scenes. Seeing the Slave 1 pop out of the sky was awesome, and getting to see Boba Fett be badass is easily one of my favorite scenes in The Mandalorian (and probably modern SW in general). The Dark troopers were cool, I look forward to seeing them in an actual fight. Grogu seemed to be a bit vicious in his force attacks on the troopers, I was actually thinking that he might start chocking one of them. I wonder if thats a bit of what Ashoka felt from him in the force

Overall this was another great episode, the show has really made up for the mediocre Ice Spider episode, and I can't wait to see where the show goes from here, even if the prospect of a Bill Burr focused prison break episode isn't a great prospect (maybe they'll quickly break him out and not waste a whole episode on it).

Re: Mace Windu (and I've seen people on YouTube in those awful theory videos thinking he'll be back too) They literally just did a "we've brought a popular movie character back to life who you thought was dead!" They're not gonna instantly do it again are they.

ps. fantastic episode.

Really hope they do go the Avengers route for the next two episodes and get the team together, even though that's also basically what happened at the end of season 1 too.

I am hoping that the Jedi Grogu may have connected to is a new character. I won't mind if it's not, but I want to see a new Jedi.

Yes, please. Way too many legacy characters in this show already. God forbid they come up with someone new!

Mace probably won't come back but I wouldn't mind if he did.

That would be horrible. How many dead characters does nuStar Wars need to resurrection?

It's becoming a joke.

They literally just did a "we've brought a popular movie character back to life who you thought was dead!" They're not gonna instantly do it again are they.

Exactly. And only a year after they did that in the last "movie."

Enough!

That ship pretty much sailed the moment they introduced Kanen, Ezra, and Ahsoka on Rebels, and Kal and Cere in Jedi: Fallen Order.

I can't really see them going that route, they're probably going to want to leave the Jedi: Fallen Order characters' fates up to Respawn and EA.
I loved this episode, after all these years we finally got to see Boba Fett actually live up to his badass reputation.
Fenec Shand popping up was cool, after Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. I'm always up for more Ming-Na Wen.
The destruction of the Rezor Crest was a big shock, I'm curious what kind of ship Din'll go for now.
I'm very curious to see what kind of response Grogu's Force message gets.
I'm thinking it will be Ezra or a new character, I just can't see them going for Luke this early in the show. Not to mention the fact that they probably wouldn't stay totally quiet about an appearance by someone that important to the franchise. Even if they don't outright announce it beforehand, they're gonna tease and build up to it, and we haven't seen anything like that.
