The first Baby Yoda, or "The Child", merchandise has been revealed. So far it's pretty much just shirts, mugs, bags, ect. using the concept art that was released online.

Yeah, they said they deliberately held off on developing merch for baby Yoda since that's usually how new characters get leaked. That looks like literally all they could rush out the door in a hurry before the Xmas season.

Very happy they put surprise over profit! Sure toys would have been cool but that moment in episode 1 where I screamed at the TV was worth it!

I'm very surprised they pulled that off, especially with all the various "news" sites that constantly hunt for every rumor and scrap of information that they can turn into click bait content.

What I like most about The Mandalorian is that you don't have to know a THING about Star Wars to understand what's going on... that's what made Episode IV so amazing, the story was easy to follow, and the important world-building stuff was incorporated in small, digestible, chunks.
Even though we all are going crazy over Baby Yoda, you don't have to know the backstory of that little green cutie to know that he/she is special.

What I like most about The Mandalorian is that you don't have to know a THING about Star Wars to understand what's going on... that's what made Episode IV so amazing, the story was easy to follow, and the important world-building stuff was incorporated in small, digestible, chunks.
Even though we all are going crazy over Baby Yoda, you don't have to know the backstory of that little green cutie to know that he/she is special.

I’ve seen some speculation that Obi-Wan is going to have a cameo as the person who first found the Mando as a child.

Obi-Wan: "Don't worry, little guy, I'll see to it that you're raised in a loving environment and are raised to know right from wrong and live on the straight and narrow. Just as I did for my young charge Anakin."

Rian Johnson said he visited the set a month ago and saw the puppet sitting in a corner. So that might mean the Baby doesn’t leave the show at the end of this season. Or maybe he just saw it in a storage room on set.
