All I know is that the original films have a few flaws but regarded as classics.. prying into flaws, some of which are not flaws, as a means of justifying decisions made on the new films gets old to me. Maybe it would be different if I liked the stories, maybe not. I personally liked Rogue One, Solo, and the Mandalorian, and even though I notice things here and there in those films/shows that don't jive 100% with what I like about the OT, I'm for the most part good with it, and yet can pick that stuff apart in good fun.
I think there is a lot of potential for them screwing up how baby Yoda is used.. I may even agree that he or she is too powerful. But maybe not.
But as of right now I like the Mandalorian.. for show that was advertised as being a bit edgier than what SW might normally be, it seems to embrace the whimsy George had in mind when created the first film and had the characters involved in "from the frying pan to the fire" type cliff-hangers
