Spoilers The Mandalorian | Disney+ | Streaming Nov. 12

I finally watched the first two and... I guess I wasn't paying attention to the press releases, but the runtimes!!!! What the hell??? I wasn't aware I was watching short treks! I thought this was going to be a real premium show like the stuff hbo and Netflix gives us. And now im guessing the marvel stuff will be just as short???

Holy shit. I really feel ripped off right now.

So I watched the first 2 episodes and will now do you the honour of giving you my opinion on the show; it's pretty good for what it is; yet another sequel/spin-off of Star Wars. I like how the director went back to one of George Lucas' original influences for the movie; Akira Kurosawa's Yojimbo as well as Sergio Leone's remake of it; A Fistful of Dollars and its sequels.

They never said anywhere how long the episodes were going to be. As it is, it really feels serialize like an old comic book.. very interesting approach

So I wonder if the Yoda baby means we might actually start to learn some stuff about his people, maybe even get a name?
I believe exploring them was a no no when George Lucas was in charge, but that doesn't necessarily still have to be the case now.
Calling it now. This is Yoda reincarnated through the Force. :)

I know the child was 50 years old, putting its birth before original Yoda’s death, but this species already has a very different kind of life cycle and we know nothing about them. Someone else here mentioned a possible larval state before turning into an actual sentient being. Perhaps a part of that process is the re-attachment of the prior soul into the newborn during emergence from the chrysalis. Wild speculation, sure, but since Yoda’s species is one of the biggest mysteries in the overall mythology, it could literally be anything.

Love this show.

So far, I love this show. Best Star Wars since Rebels. Pedro is doing an incredible job acting through a mask. Nolte is awesome. Run times fit the story, so no probs there. Seeing the inside of a sand crawler was fucking great and I cheered. I'm going to adopt a baby Yoda.

Wow calm down.

I hope they release new episodes soon.
Here's the release schedule for the rest of the season:
Chapter 3 - Nov. 22
Chapter 4 - Nov. 29
Chapter 5 - Dec. 6
Chapter 6 - Dec. 13
Chapter 7 - Dec. 18
Chapter 8 (Season finale) - Dec. 27
After seeing how mobile the child was in the second episode, I started to wonder if maybe he isn't more mature than he appears. I mean, he's, like, half the size of a full-grown Yoda, even if he's the size of a human baby and being carried around in a space-bassinet. An actual "baby" Yoda would probably be, like, the size of a kitten. We don't know where he came from, or who's been taking care of him. Fifty years old means he was born before Palpatine became Chancellor (in fact, he was born the same year as Anakin, which could be important), so he probably wouldn't have been on the run or kept hidden immediately, but we don't know. He could've been abducted as soon as he was born (or as an egg, if they have eggs). It could be he's not verbal because he doesn't know English, or wasn't educated by whoever had him, and a child of his age would normally be speaking.
I had the same thought, he definitely did at least seem to be more active than a really young baby typically would. As for using the hover stroller thing, it's not unusual for smaller aliens to use something help them keep up with human sized aliens. even as adults. We had Yoda with his hover chair in Attack of The Clones, and in Farscape, Rigel, who's about Yoda sized, had his hover throne.

So far, it's enjoyable. It's light lifting and can be fun at times.

I didn't expect much more, and I'm happy. I get a year of Disney+ for free, so I could give a shit to be honest.

I’m thinking he’s a bit more mature than we’re assuming or at least more aware than we’d expect. I wouldn’t be surprised if once he knows the Mando is going to protect him from the ex-Imperials we hear him speak. It wouldn’t be the first time a member of his species hid who he was by playing dumb.

He could also be empathic through the Force. Reacting to what happens in response to what those around him are feeling. He did seem interested in the Mando’s wound and only used his powers when he was about to get killed.
