That's assuming Star Wars Holocrun is even a reliable source on this manner.
Unless the plan was to have it debut on Kimmel's show, I fail to see what one has to do with the other.
Which is another reason why I question that dubious news source.Regardless, now seems a bit early to be releasing the trailer for a movie coming out in May anyway. Typically, May releases don't get their first trailers until sometime around Christmas, so we're still a few months away from when it would be expected anyway.
And we personally know several folks (non-coastal types, it must be said) that have told us they are cancelling their Disney+ subscriptions. So far Lindelof is the most prominent creative to say he won’t work with the company, where projects keep humming along — including The Mandalorian & Grogu, which has a first trailer the company has been sitting on.
I understand your skepticism, but in the age of social media, it's incredibly easy to leak trailer dates. Someone at Disney likely told a podcaster, and they said it on air, and it likely leaked online. The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that a trailer was coming, but it was postponed. That's assuming Star Wars Holocrun is even a reliable source on this manner.
Hmm. Filoni's using the feature budget to throw in even more creature effects than he could afford on TV. Aside from extras, the only human face featured in the trailer is Sigourney Weaver's.
