The least disliked episode of DS9 - Final Round

Correcting the vote (somehow 1 vote got lost for WYLB, making it 3 votes before mine), I'll eliminate What you leave behind. The Pah'Wraith part just didn't do anything for me.

First vote in the next round goes to The Die is Cast - it's a good episode, a good start to a two-parter. But honestly, I think it's hard to compare the individual parts of 2-part-episodes to single part ones. They just don't stand alone, therefore don't work as well individually for me.

Actually The Die is Cast is the second part. It only comes before Improbable Cause in the list because it won that season.

Anyway, I vote for the first part, because I think the second pays off what the first sets up. Granted, it's been a while since I saw these two, the others are fresher in my memory.

The Die is Cast - 2
Improbable Cause - 1
The Visitor - 0
In the Pale Moonlight - 0
Tacking into the Wind - 1

Once again "The Visitor" nothing has changed except more superior episodes have been eliminated.

The Die is Cast - 2
Improbable Cause - 1
The Visitor - 1
In the Pale Moonlight - 0
Tacking into the Wind - 1

Actually The Die is Cast is the second part. It only comes before Improbable Cause in the list because it won that season.

Thanks for the correction, somehow I get confused with my DS9 episode title memory nowadays. *g* In any case, my reasoning still applies, since without a first part a second usually can't stand on its own, therefore it can't easily be compared with stand-alone episodes. ;)

I'll vote for The Die is Cast, even though I like it as much as Improbable Cause. I love all these episodes, but I know what my top two are, so it's tactical thinking too. :D

The Die is Cast - 3
Improbable Cause - 1
The Visitor - 1
In the Pale Moonlight - 0
Tacking into the Wind - 1

I'm going with Improbable Cause. It's a great episode, and is a great example of why DS9 is a great series as the show utilizes their guest characters so extensively. Both Improbable Cause and The Die is Cast are great episodes, but each episode is just one half of a whole. They're much weaker if judged separately, and Improbable Cause was a lot of set up for the second part.

The Die is Cast - 3
Improbable Cause - 2
The Visitor - 1
In the Pale Moonlight - 0
Tacking into the Wind - 1

I eliminate The Die Is Cast

The Die is Cast - 4
Improbable Cause - 2
The Visitor - 1
In the Pale Moonlight - 0
Tacking into the Wind - 1

Among the great episodes left, I think it seems like it's just a little bit knocking down the pins that were set up in Improbable Cause.

Once again it's "The Visitor".

Improbable Cause - 0
The Visitor - 1
In the Pale Moonlight - 0
Tacking into the Wind - 0

I believe The Visitor and In the Pale Moonlight are the best episodes. The other two do not compare. One vote for Improbable Cause.

Improbable Cause - 1
The Visitor - 1
In the Pale Moonlight - 0
Tacking into the Wind - 0

Improbable Cause - 2
The Visitor - 1
In the Pale Moonlight - 0
Tacking into the Wind - 0

As before.

Improbable Cause - 2
The Visitor - 1
In the Pale Moonlight - 0
Tacking into the Wind - 1

Tacking into the Wind. Same as before.

Improbable Cause. One half of a whole is just incomplete.

Improbable Cause - 3
The Visitor - 1
In the Pale Moonlight - 0
Tacking into the Wind - 1

I'll eliminate Improbable Cause.

For the first vote after resetting the scores: Tacking into the Wind. I love that episode to bits, it's my favourite out of the final arc, but it doesn't compare to the other 2 episodes (and, in accordance with my earlier statement, it's not really a stand-alone episode, being part of a larger episode arc).

The Visitor - 0
In the Pale Moonlight - 0
Tacking into the Wind - 1

The Visitor - 0
In the Pale Moonlight - 0
Tacking into the Wind - 2

I also vote for Tacking into the Wind, because I think the other 2 are more complete pieces of work.

Tacking into the Wind is an excellent, game changing episode of DS9, and has done well to get this far, but I'll have to eliminate it now. The other two are my top two episodes.

And so it's down to choosing between The Visitor and In The Pale Moonlight, which are excellent in different ways. I have to side with Sisko's tortured choices, which I get swept into with every time I rewatch it. I'd be happy with either episode winning though.

The Visitor - 1
In The Pale Moonlight - 0

The Visitor - 2
In The Pale Moonlight - 0

These episodes are two of the very best. That said, I'll vote for the Visitor simply because Moonlight is the best. If I had to give another reason... well, Jake crying every time he saw Sisko happened one too many times (though, I'm not going to pretend like I wouldn't be a wreck in the same situation!) also I don't much care for the old age makeup.

Now it's time to vote for The Visitor. In the Pale Moonlight is just way too good.

The Visitor - 3
In the Pale Moonlight - 0

Still nothing has changed I've voted this way for the last 8 or so rounds. "The Visitor"
Nothing has changed except yet more superior episodes have been eliminated. Sure it's a good episode but I prefer episodes like "The WIre", "The Die is Cast" etc...

The Visitor - 4
In the Pale Moonlight - 0

Well, there we have it. In the Pale Moonlight wins, receiving no votes against it for the entire game. That's a distinction it shares only with The Wrath of Khan in the movie thread of two years ago. :)
