The least disliked episode of DS9 - Final Round

I think I'm ready to vote for Emissary now. I loved it on first viewing and still do, I think it is the best pilot of all the series'. But the other episodes are excellent and in the first episode, we're obviously still getting to know the characters, some of whom are not initially all that well drawn out. I also thought the Prophet scenes were just a little overlong.

I'm in shock that "Necessary Evil" is on the chopping block so soon. I'll have to go with "Emissary". It is without doubt the best of the Star Trek pilots and sets up the show's characters, premise, and storylines with surprising skill. The episode is even more enjoyable upon rewatch, after experiencing the entire show. You can see the beginnings of the beautiful character arcs and relationships that will define the series. However, it does have some strange line delivery on the part of Avery Brooks and some of the other characters' makeup and performances seem to be in need of refinement. It's also a shame that the producers felt the need to insert that ugly exposition crawl at the beginning of the episode.
Sorry "Emissary". I really do love you . This is really tough!

I'll eliminate Necessary Evil. It's probably the one episode left I wouldn't place in my top 20.

Reset the scores and voted for Tacking in the Wind. It's great and everything, but it's placement in the final arc makes it hard for me to think of it as an episode - I have trouble remembering which events happen in which episodes at that point.
