The least disliked episode 2021 - VOY Final Rounds

At this point, we're quibbling over small imperfections and that's why I choose Scorpion II, a little less good than the two others.

Scorpion I - 0
Living Witness - 0
Scorpion II - 1

Depressingly, "Living Witness" is losing it's luster a bit as it ages, as we learn more and more from the real world that showing people the truth usually just makes them cling to the lie with greater ferocity. As a result, this ending no longer resonates for me as it once did.

Scorpion II is the usual "how to make part two better than part one" where part two is almost never as good.

Scorpion I - 0
Living Witness - 1
Scorpion II - 2

Aaaaaaand Timeless is finally O.U.T. It's a Harry and Chekotay episode for crying out loud! Might as well watch paint dry for an entire episode. Beige paint.
"Timeless" was nothing like watching paint dry, regardless of how you feel about the leads.:angryrazz:

"Scorpion II," same reason as before.

Scorpion I - 0
Living Witness - 1
Scorpion II - 3

And Scorpion II us out. It's not quite as amazing as part one, or Living Witness.

The final vote, then. I think my love for the cliffhanger in Scorpion I, along with the building of tension throughout the episode, means I'm voting to save it.

Living Witness is a great episode, but it doesn't touch Scorpion.

Scorpion I - 0
Living Witness - 1

I was rooting for "Scorpion II" to take it -- the birth of one of sci-fi's greatest characters! Ah well. Both remaining are great episodes, but I'm going "Living Witness" with my last point for the same reasons stated previously.

"Scorpion I" really is a perfect finale. The only letdown is that they don't kill Harry in the resolution.

Scorpion I - 2
Living Witness - 2

This is extremely tough. Both are excellent episodes. I find only one reason to eliminate "LIVING WITNESS".

Because "SCORPION" is one of the ONLY times Chakotay actually stood his ground against Janeway. And frankly, I think he was 100% right.

"SCORPION" wins this year.

I'm glad Living Witness didn't repeat. I just always saw it as more of a 7-8/10 episode rather than the elite tier it usually gets put in.

Funny how the DS9 and Voyager competitions this year have had pretty much the opposite results to normal. DS9's competition is usually won by the darker and more morally ambiguous episodes, and yet Duet, arguably the most classically "Trek-like" episode of the show, ran away with this year's competition.

Conversely, the Voyager contests are typically won by the more light-hearted, high-concept episodes, and yet this year's winner is the one where Janeway is at her most ruthlessly pragmatic.

Yes, he was 100% right - not that it mattered, because let's face it, this is *the* one and only time Chakotay actually stood up to Janeway... and still got sucked in to agree with her.

I love Scorpion I, it's one of my favourite VOY episodes, but it also marks the beginning of the end of any kind of discussion between Janeway and Chakotay - the only one who can openly question Janeway from here on in is Seven.

And Enterprise is typically the most hostile and, dare I say, catty environment for this game - which should mean this year's version will end up jovial and courteous for all involved. I'll get that one started later today.

2021 Voyager Winner - Scorpion I

Okay, I refuse to go to sleep until after 2:30AM just so that these contests can end up being slightly more interesting.

Not that it would have made a difference, but a 3-to-3 tie would have looked more exciting. :D

Both are excellent episodes, but people who have pet scorpions that do not get stung just because they're scorpions. Of course, this is generally due to their owners not being dumb enough to try to hug it... Janeway really would try to embrace the Borg, wouldn't she...

Living Witness. It’s a great episode,

No argument here. It's also more original and doesn't rely on an existing monster to propel itself forward with.

but Scorpion I is where the show really came into its own.

Fair Better than fair point. :) And Seven is one of Trek's best new characters, if not sci-fi in general. Certainly 90s sci-fi. (Though Sela was better conceptually. In overall handling after the setup/big reveal, Sela was so poorly scripted... unlike Seven until season seven...)

I don't have a lot of love for the "Torture Harry" episodes. Frankly, Wang isn't a strong enough actor to carry them, especially when one compares the "Torture O'Brien" line and Meaney's acting. But "Timeless" is the best "Torture Harry" episode of the series and belongs in a list of Essential Trek episodes. Wang really stepped up, partly because it was a good story, even though it was a reset. I'm glad it got as far as it did this year, though I agree that "Scorpion I" is a worthy winner.

I agree that it's the best of its kind but personally, I find it sad that the best of its kind is not even good enough... At least that's the way I feel about that episode. IMHO, they would have been better off without the Harry character altogether.
