The Least Disliked Episode 2025 - VOY Final Rounds

Yeah, I think for this you have to play them as individual pieces. Plus, the games are broken down by seasons, and many of the two-parters bridge seasons.

I love how the Voyager finalists are always so fucking random. It fits the show. I could be wrong but I feel like you have more doubters for the top Voyager episodes than you do for Balance Of Terror, BOBW, Pale Moonlight, etc. Even the best Voyager episodes usually have a little more of a disclaimer, you have to be willing to forgive that the actual plotting of "Scorpion" is quite weak, or that "Timeless" is about Chakotay and Harry, or that "Before & After" just builds to an inexplicable technobabble resolution, or a million versions of a reset button, or the too-abrupt endings they always had, etc.

And I think this is the only show to never have a repeat winner?

This is true.

Evidently not!

Star Trek: Voyager
Hall of Champions
2011 - Meld
2013 - Living Witness
2017 - Blink of an Eye
2019 - Tinker, Tenor, Doctor, Spy
2021 - Scorpion I
2023 - Timeless
2025 - Year of Hell I

Yes, that lineup of winners really shows how much Voyager could not make their actual premise work. Every highlight is some form of tangent!

A showcase episode for one character that puts that character in an altered state the entire time.

A flashforward episode mostly about one-off guest characters.

An "interesting planet" episode mostly about one-off guest characters.

An episode distinguished by it's fantasy sequences.

(OK, "Scorpion" actually is pretty great)

And then two episodes that don't actually happen because of time loops!

I guess "Cool Tangent Episodes" is the Voyager specialty.

:guffaw::guffaw::guffaw: That was a good one, I almost spit out my drink.

This I disagree with, exploring strange new worlds etc. was still part if the premise even if they did it while trying to get home. Janeway literally says so in the pilot when she gives her speech at the end.
I think it actually shows that Voyager has a lot of variety and is better than many people are giving the show credit for. It's true that they didn't do a lot with the idea of limited resources etc. but when it came to exploring worlds or doing interesting things with the characters they were better than TNG towards the end.
