The James Bond Film Discussion Thread (With Bonus Lazenby!)

Until it was pointed out in another forum, I'd forgotten that since Amazon owns the MGM library, they also own the rights to the Pink Panther films.
I can see it now, an Inspector Clouseau/James Bond crossover, coming soon to a streaming device near you.

Please, someone who can, create a meme or GIF or Thing or whatever, of an AI Sean Connery Bond saying, “Now eez not zee tahm, Kato!” in Clouseau’s voice!!!

I definitely could have seen a Peter Sellers/Roger Moore crossover; and Roger Moore played a surgically altered Clouseau in one of the latter films.
I don't know who you could get to play a 21st Century Clouseau though.

Not about James Bond, but: If Amazon is serious about releasing 12-14 movies in theaters starting next year, they will announce some of their plans at Cinemacon next week. With this international distribution department, some of the 12-14 movies they will release in theaters will be Orion Pictures and United Artists movies, and some will be Amazon MGM Studios movies, I think. And there is a possibility that Amazon will get the distribution rights for a lot of movies that it didn't make.

Next week at Amazon Cinemacon, I think the plans for the next James Bond film: release date and who will be at the helm of the series will be announced. I think Amy Pascal and David Heyman will be at the helm of the James Bond series.

They're not directors? And they've already been announced as producers of the Bond films

Burt Kwok was in Goldfinger and You Only Live Twice, not sure he shared any scenes with Connery though.

I read articles about the firing of Jennifer Salke, the head of Amazon MGM Studios, and that Mike Hopkins, who was her superior and who fired her and took away her authority to approve projects long before that, was the only Amazon executive who agreed with Barbara Broccoli, and that Jennifer Salke was the one who wanted to transform the Bond universe into a Marvel-style universe. I wonder if the transformation into a Marvel-style universe was canceled by firing the woman?

As a producer, yes, but will they be the ones who will be in charge of the series? There is no official statement on that subject.

I hope Carey Lowell from Licence to Kill returns to the franchise for another role. She is one of the most underrated Bond girls from the 1962-2002 era of films and if Charles Gray, Joe Don Baker and Walter Gotell can come back to play different roles and Judi Dench can cross over from one timeline of 007 to another with few changes to her character then I'd love to see Lowell come back in a more seasoned and mature role.

Depending on what other characters are under the Amazon/MGM umbrella, I could see the potential for a new version of Murder by Death.

Which wouldn't be the most terrible idea.

Never Say Never probably should count, especially now Eon no longer own the franchise. (in fact I wonder of Amazon would give some thought to producing a newer edition that maybe inserted a gun barrel and rescored it to include the Bond theme. I have no idea if this is even something you can legitimately do to an existing film but obviously at the same time they could remove the slide whistle from TMWTGG)

Shockingly I've never actually seen CR67 but it doesn't feel like it should ever be an official Bond film.
