True Florida has become a bit of an obvious easy target in American comedy.
I’m wondering when’re this is going, if they are setting up to claim that because they did good after being told they could NOT earn points that their points actually counted.
And it doesn’t look like that was Michael’s plan but it would be clever. Make their good behavior count by tricking them into thinking they’d go to the bad place no matter what.

Yes, I think so. They did all this good even knowing that it would not count thus their motives for doing the good were pure. They were doing the good for good's sake, not to earn a reward. So the good will actually count towards getting them into the Good Place. It is also possible that the Judge will get rid of the entire point system completely because Michael will make the case that the point system is unfair. Thus the point system won't be used anyway and the characters will make it into the Good Place another way.

I'm not sure how their solution saved Pillboy. Now his motives are corrupt, he's doing it because he's participating in a secret NASA mission.
I suppose helping people instead of stealing because you're on a secret NASA mission counts as a good deed.

The actor who plays Donkey Doug has Jason's vocal mannerisms and behavior down perfectly. Great job. BORTLES!
Randy "Macho Man" Savage Non-International Airport and the monster truck taxi had me rollin'.
I know the show loves its funny background references, but it makes me wonder if this isn't actually the real world and is instead just another version of the afterlife where the team is being tested. Because the real world has all the same kind of quirky references the businesses and locations the Bad Place did, like a Finding Nemo reference (French Pressing Nemo Cafe) and streets named "Thatsnotta Street" and "Thisisa Street" after Crocodile Dundy. Of course, that may be reading too much into it and it's just the show's sense of humor, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's revealed at the end that this is all like the Construct in the Matrix and Michael (who loves pop-culture references) built it to give the team another shot at redemption.

This episode was a lot better than the week before. Loved the various simulations with Chidi and Simone. I hope that isn't the last time we see Simone. I was beginning to like her, and I kind of wanted her to be someone actually from The Good Place.

It was nice to see Eleanor confirmed as bisexual and in such a casual way. It’s been hinted at for a while now.
It wasn't my favorite episode and I'm struggling as to why. I think it has to do with this season feeling really different and disconnected from the previous two. The things that I loved about the series feel like they are no more (the craziness, Shawn, the four of them together) and there are just fewer laugh out loud moments now. It's almost like now every other episode is funny, while the other one takes on a more serious tone like tonight's.
There were some good moments though, like Chidi, Michael's sternness, Michael and Dave bonding over architecture. Still know that Elenour knows how Chidi felt, we might get the four of them back together. Michael describing going number 2 was my favorite thing in this episode.

True that as long as they're on Earth the show has lost its wackiness. I don't mind that as long as it doesn't last too long, nothing wrong with a change of pace as long as the show doesn't lose its character.
It's cathartic for me to see characters resolve their conflicts with the main person who drove them to their bad behavior. My guess is Chidi will have an episode where he addresses the reasons for his indecisiveness and then we'll get a last minute bombshell at the end of next episode that brings things back to the supernatural.

This season did change up the premise a bit. Season 1 and 2 were about people in the after life whereas season 3 is about people alive on Earth. That might account a little for this season feeling different.
Of course, this season is still connected to the overall premise of the show since the actions of our characters on Earth will undoubtedly affect their existence in the After Life. Their good actions on Earth in this season may finally earn them a permanent place in the Good Place. Of course, with how this show likes to do end of season plot twists, I can't help but wonder if we are going to get some big twist where it is revealed that the entire season was a simulation and the characters were still in the After Life after all.
Yes, I also feel like Michael was a bit wasted in this episode. He had a couple good lines but otherwise, did not really have a real purpose in the episode.
I’m missing the philosophical aspect to the show that Chidi’s classes brought. The ethical questions are more subdued this season. Feels to mission of the week. Like Touched By an Angel. Except funny. Ish.
I quite liked this one. Michael's lie about being architect just made me laugh so much as it kept getting more elaborate. I also liked his explanation of what happens in bathrooms, and also him trying to be firm with Elanor. Wow her mother is a piece of work.
