The Good Place Season 3

Another great episode and yes we are going to get more Janet. The scene with the Judge was funny, and I guess Janet really isn't a robot but more of a printer. I hope this isn't the last we have seen of Trevor.

Ep 3 was good. The jokes with the insecure Hemsworth brother were funny. The line about a spinal surgeon never being as successful as an actor was a subtle but pointed jab at our culture, how we idolize celebrities instead of the people who truly change lives. Also, I love how this show does the last minute plot twists. I figured our characters would eventually figure out about Michael and Janet and, at the last second of the ep, they see them opening the portal. Can't wait to see what happens next!

I've been expecting Michael to appear at the wrong time to somebody who would recognize him from before and they'd start comparing notes and Eleanor would have one of her 'Wait a minute!' moments.

I wonder how much of that conversation she overheard. Now is the time they start comparing notes that Michael manipulated them all together. Eleanor might have enough to figure out a lot of it. Four people who were saved from death at the last minute, then got manipulated together by the same man to learn moral philosophy. Then was seen opening up a mystical door to nowhere.

The big question here is, if they do figure it out, will any of their positive points from there on out count? If you know for a fact there's a heaven, does being good for the sole sake of getting into it count?

One thing we've never seen is the real Good Place getting involved, I wonder if that's coming. The only time we've seen anyone from the Good Place is in Mindy's video. But if they advocated for Mindy, will they advocate for Eleanor and give Michael some real legal backing?

There was a thought in The Good Place Reddit that Simone might have been from the real good place. I like that theory, and it could bring the real good place involved. Maybe that's how the season ends.

That was a lot of fun. I figured we were headed for another twist when they started jumping over so much time.
The stuff with the unsuccesfully Hemsworth was really funny.
Micheal and Janet's attempts to keep everyone together were good.
Definitely very curious to see where things go next week.

Episode 5: "Jeremy Bearimy"

Michael's explanation of how time works in the after life was pretty funny. Loved Michael's "I don't know how much simpler I can make it" and Chidi's look on his face like his head was about to explode.

Chidi going bonkers was funny too. But how the heck is a philosophy prof so ripped? I guess Chidi works out a lot.

It was nice seeing Eleanor develop that conscience and become good.

It is looking to me like we are heading towards a series finale where the gang do a ton of good on earth and save a lot of people and earn their place in the real good place in the end. My guess is the finale will see our characters die and end up back in the waiting room we saw in the first episode, fully expecting to go to the bad place only to be surprised with the news that they will go to the real good place after all.

Ducked in to unwatch the thread. Saw in a headline Chidi is quoting Nietzche, which is never a good sign for anyone. Just reminding.

I liked this episode more than I liked last weeks, but I wish they could calm down on the Florida jokes. It's getting borderline annoying now. Chidi's breakdown was funny though, and yes holy moly he is ripped.

Great episode.
The whole Jeremy Bearimy timeline thing and Chidi's breakdown were hilarious.
Eleanor and Jason & Tahani trying to good was pretty good to. What ended up happening with Eleanor is pretty much how things end up going whenever my family tries to do anything nice. No matter how simple it starts out, it always seems to escalate into something much more complicated.
It definitely did not play out the way I expected, and this continues the trend of the show going in unexpected directions. I thought once they found out what was really going on everybody would end up getting pulled back into the afterlife.

I agree this show is so good at keeping things unexpected. When I think about how far the story has gone I get dizzy.

The Jeremy Bearimy explanation was so funny, and I loved Eleanor trying to be a nice person. :D

When I saw the title of the episode was Jeremy Bearimy, that was definitely not where I expected it to come from.

Janet getting annoyed with how slow Michael typed was hilarious.

I asked my husband about the forgotten Hemsworth brother about a few seconds before he showed up. My husband ask who I meant. Ha!

Having Hemsworth show up was hilarious. With everything that happened in this episode, I too totally forgot about him so the Ti'hani's reaction matched mine. This show is so unpredictable, but that is part of it's charm.

Io9 pointed out that there actually was a joke about Chidi being, to quote Eleanor, "surprisingly jacked" all the way back in Season 1.
It also turns out that William Jackson Harper was scared to take his shirt off to film the scene in the park. Apparently he was chubby as a kid and was got made fun of a lot, and it stuck with him into adulthood.
