Spoilers The Flash - Season 3

Expecting one of the two scientists working there to man the coffee stand isn't a great way to run the business. H. R. should do it himself, he'd finally be making himself useful.

Except if he found out that Iris used to work at Jitters, then he would have convinced her to take the job, as she's more qualified.

I saw Miss Teschmacher credited for this episode on IMDb weeks ago. I assumed it was usual BS inaccurate info you see on that site all the time. I guess not!

Cute Earth-38 cameo, though I didn't recognize her.

Cisco talking about his investment in H. R. made me realize that with Julian on the team, H. R.'s usefulness is even more marginalized.

I loved the unannounced CatCo cameo. We get so much advance news about TV shows these days -- it's nice for something to be a surprise like this. And not even some big important revelation, just a nice little detail.

I'm not sure if it's such a good idea for Cisco to flirt with Gypsy. I mean, she has the same powers he does, and they seem to be about the same ethnicity. What if she's actually his sex-swapped doppelganger?

It seemed pretty naive for Iris to assume she was unkillable until May, since it's already been established that her future can be changed. Still, it was pretty badass for her to stand up to that gunman like that.

Yep. I had the same thought last week:

I assumed the new girl was Earth 18's female doppleganger of Cisco. She has the same powers, and Cisco used the word "gorgeous" in the way people usually refer positively/jokingly to their dopplegangers in sci-fi shows and comics.

Although, I believe I should have referred to Earth 19 instead of Earth 18.

Are thinking of Quinn's female doppelgänger on Sliders, Logan St. Clair? I had that same thought from Gypsy's character description before the episode even aired. The comic book character has completely different powers than she did here.

This episode was so BS. "Our world has laws against inter dimensional travel", and the penalty is death  I was hoping barry would just kick her butt and stick her in prison. That whole stupid subplot basically ruined the episode for me, I just wanted that idiot to shut the hell up and leave. "The Collectors" is a stupid premise, too. Julian didn't help by being an ass. You don't let someone get killed for violating a stupid law. Well, ok, some of the badly written Star Trek episodes might do that, but not rational people.

Also, calling her "gypsy" is almost as bad as when they made up random supervillains and gave them Dr. Light and Atom Smasher's names. The fact that she doesn't even have Gypsy's powers is even worse (at least fake Dr. Light had powers similar to the original character).

The idiotic Earth-19 even has trial by combat. The Flash has had some stupid stuff, but this is pretty high on the list (and not "awesome stupid" like King Shark). So, yeah, this is one of the worst Flash episodes in awhile. Hopefully next week will be better.

I assumed that it was all a set up by H.R. as soon as they said "trial by combat".

LARPing a potential Script, while setting Cisco up on a date... And as a further Bonus, now Team Flash can't send him home, or they think that they can't send him home, which had to be the plan all along.

This was all completely a ruse.

Oh.

When you know where your target is going to be months before hand, bury a ####ing bomb under where is standing already, or ask a pretty blond lady to heat vision Savatar in half from 20,000 feet up.

Sorry? Did they get around to inventing a turtle bomb or not?

A freeze bomb would do it, even if that is Johnny Snow.

I forgot her name but wasn't that the assistant Cat brought in before she left? I liked the Catco cameo too.

Great episode tonight. Really did like the Gypsy character and we got some more nice stuff with HR. Also really like Julian on team Flash. I'm a bit worried every week we will get the Iris worried about the future but now it's not as bad. I was a little confused about two things though. One, this fight should have happened during the day and two, if it's a fight to the death, how come no one dies, or at least fake died like Amok Time or Code of honor. The combat scene could have been a little longer.

One of those realities, the earth was volcanic and the moon was destroyed, I wonder what happened
Thundarr the Barbarian?

Nice connection. I'm sticking with that in my head eventhough Thundarr isn't a DC property.

I was thinking that America Ferrera would make a better doppelganger. And about the flirting, it was funny but at the same time, it's another one of those instances where the hero lets attraction get in the way. The Batman and Catwoman effect.

Loved that interdimensional fight and yes, that was a nice surprise.

Yeah, fear can drive societies to create draconian laws which they often think of as reasonable or rational.

I forgot her name but wasn't that the assistant Cat brought in before she left?
I didn't recognize her either but I knew it was Miss Teschmacher. For a split second, I did wonder if it was Cat though.

The whole "combat to the death challenge" was rather a silly notion for a futuristic transdimensional cop of sorts. She should have been named Vibette as she was nothing like Gypsy. I liked the Arwen reference to LotR, as well as the jump to National City. I didn't care for the Iris-Wally team-up, which felt contrived. It was irrational for her to be so reckless so she could write a good article for her newspaper. Overall, it was a fun episode.
