True, it did seem callous. I can only think that maybe our heroes did not see any alternative. Griffin seemed very unwilling to stand down and Barry did not have his powers. So, they needed to find a way to defeat a man with super strength without using any powers.

Yeah, but they could've at least had "Try to talk him down before he kills himself" as Plan A and "Force him to exert himself until he risks killing himself" as Plan B.
 
Yeah, our heroes weren't particularly heroic in this episode.

I also don't understand why Wells was so quick to say the guy couldn't be cured. That seems like a quick diagnosis for someone who has barely performed any testing, doesn't have access to much in the way of equipment, and by all accounts is primarily a physicist. It's also not smart to tell the unstable meta that there is no hope. I can only assume Wells had a death wish in this episode that over-rode his common sense.

Yeah, I was surprised that Wells did not offer to bring Griffin back to Starlabs for a proper diagnosis. Surely, Starlabs would have the right equipment to get more info on what was happening to Griffin. Perhaps Wells did not want to expose the Flash's secret to Griffin or maybe Wells is such a genius, especially when it comes the particle accelerator, that he grasped what was happening to Griffin from his description and knew that there was no hope.
 
So a new particle explosion I imagine will also give speed force powers to Wally & Jess alongside Barry? Jess could return to Earth 2 to be their Flash. Am still not happy that basically last week they just handed over Barry's powers with none of it being a ruse, it makes that episode even more stupid and plants season 2 behind season 1 in quality.
 
So about the man in the mask... Caitlin and Killer Frost had this conversation that revealed Caitlin never had a brother, yet KF did. That might have been a hint that Earth-2 Hunter had a brother(possibly a twin one) who is the real Jay Garrick(maybe he changed his name because of the notoriety of the name Zolomon). Would explain why Zoom is keeping him alive, and why he knows the prisoner code(that likely originated from their father).

Also, they mentioned ACE Chemicals, so Joker is confirmed :D

The more I think about last week the more I think the series as a whole has taken a hit. Last night didn't help matters either. It's a shame shows tend to be so good in the first season and then fall into the sophomore slump the next year. Overall, this season has been not good.

So did I. This is the second week in a row I've been disappointed with their resolution to the crisis. Like with Barry's speed, I find it hard to believe that they couldn't have found some way to stop Griffin without him killing himself. Then on top of that they didn't really even acknowledge or show any real sympathy about what had just happened.
There was still some stuff to like in this episode.
Wally's meeting with the Flash was a nice moment.
The stuff with Caitlin and Killer Frost was good, and we got some good stuff with Wells and Jessie too.
 
Okay. I just watched the latest episode and caught up with this thread. I seem to be the only one who was left with a nagging question throughout the episode. Why is Zoom's .... speed lighting still blue after it was established that taking too much Velocity 9 causes the yellow/orange lighting to turn blue.

Again, I wonder why the Reverse Flash's lighting was red?

Anyway, I think Zoom isn't cured yet.... long way from it.

Also, I have to wonder if I agree with Killer Frost...is everyone from Earth 1 gullible? There was no way in hell I would have tried to freed her.

Who would blow our mind? Shipp wouldn't do it for me. Not a twin of Hunter's. I think it's someone else that wouldn't occur to us at this time if it would actually "blow our minds".

Let's look at some possibilities for the man in the mask:
1) The real Jay Garrick, Hunter's identical twin.
2) Hunter Zolomon's temporal remnant.
3) Barry Allen from the future.
4) Barry Allen from another Earth.
5) Harrison Wells from the future.
6) Hunter's dad or maybe the temporal remnant of his dad.
7) Eobard Thawn from Earth 2.
8) Oliver Quinn from Earth 2.
