I would absolutely love it if we went to a DD, but I have to agree with Marc here. The government is too unpopular. I can't see it happening.
The upside we have, is that the minor parties can't support the liberal government so they're going to be limited in the damage they'll be able to do.
The GST was wildly unpopular and it only got through because the Democrats supported it. Anyone remember them? That support killed their party. They haven't been heard from since. Palmer United knows that, and without Palmer United on board, the Liberals are dead in the water on quite a number of things.
I don't think it is as clear cut in Queensland. The liberals are wildly unpopular, but atm Labor is unknown. It's going to be a dirty election and the Liberals will use that fear of the unknown card. I think it will be close, but I'm not going to get cocky about it.

In Queensland Newman has a bit more breathing room because Queensland doesn't got the polls till early next year but when you're looking at going from a massive majority to losing office in 3 years, it's really really bad. Oh and Newman could be one of those to lose his seat.
